Without an official starting QB having been named, it's safe to assume Bo Nix will be Oregon Football's starter for the season opener against Georgia this Fall. Some Duck fans have clamored for Ty Thompson, but it's okay to be patient with a guy even if he's a highly-rated recruit--especially if he is a quarterback. Thrusting Thompson into situations he's not prepared for is not in anybody's best interests.
On this episode of Locked On Ducks with Spencer McLaughlin, Rian Winter (@SportsChat503) joins the show to talk about the latest news around Oregon Football and Men's Basketball. With the addition of RB Bucky Irving from Minnesota, a position that was a question mark not long ago is suddenly looking like a strength for the Ducks in 2022--could this be the year Sean Dollars leads the backfield? Plus, recruiting victories have been numerous as of late for Dan Lanning and his staff, and the way players like 4-star WR Jurrion Dickey have talked about the Ducks under the new staff bodes well for the future.
Oregon Basketball has plenty of questions going into next season, but they're starting to get some answers on the roster as well. The return of N'Faly Dante followed the departure of G De'Vion Harmon as the roster continues to be finalized for next year with high-profile recruits like 5-star C Kel'el Ware not yet on campus. The Ducks had a disappointing season this year under Dana Altman, barely scraping their way to another 20-win campaign, but the potential for a bounceback is very real for Oregon.
