Oregon Football's 2023 recruiting class has (for now) entered the top 25 at this point in the cycle. After landing two verbal commitments at the cornerback position, Duck fans are continuing to monitor how Dan Lanning and Tosh Lupoi will be able to recruit on that side of the ball--with high expectations. 4-star safety Tyler Turner was down to Oregon and Oklahoma, but ultimately landed on Oregon's new staff in favor of the Sooners and new HC Brent Venables.
On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin discusses the latest verbal commitments for Dan Lanning and his staff in the class of 2023. The next member of the secondary in next year's class is 3-star CB/Nickel Colin Gill, who goes all the way across the country for his college ball coming from Washington DC. Oregon adds both of these verbal commitments in a position group that lost multiple starters from the 2021 season.
The recruiting returns so far under this new staff have been positive, but still duck fans have more hopes for their first full cycle. Oregon has received a "crystal ball" for 2023 5-star QB Dante Moore, originally from Detroit, MI. If they could only get a big-time QB or a big-time pass rusher, which is more important for the 2023 recruiting cycle?
