Our Daily Walk with Jesus

Have you ever felt like the season you are in is wasted time? The prayers you have prayed for months still hang in the air. The verses you have read a hundred times do not move you the way they used to. You show up to church, and the songs go on, and the sermon comes and goes, and you walk back to your car feeling strangely untouched by any of it. And underneath the routine, a small question starts to hum. Is anything actually happening? Is anyone actually listening?

This 5-minute devotional from Jesus 24/7 speaks to the quiet middle — the prayers that feel unanswered, the routines that feel unrewarded, and the silence that feels empty. We walk through Isaiah chapter thirty, where the prophet says, "In returning and rest you shall be saved. In quietness and in trust shall be your strength." The breakthrough did not arrive all at once for the people of Israel, and it rarely arrives all at once for us. Most of what God is doing in us is being done in the ordinary middle, not at the loud finish line.

Word Burst is a short daily devotional from Samuel Reeves, part of the Jesus 24/7 family. Each five-minute episode takes one verse or one moment and gives you something steady to carry into the rest of your day. If today feels ordinary, this Word Burst is for you.

Chapters:
0:00 — The Ordinary Middle
0:35 — The Question That Hums Underneath
1:20 — Isaiah 30 and the Strength of Quiet
2:30 — What God Is Doing in the Waiting
3:40 — You Do Not See the Roots Yet
4:20 — Rest, Trust, Keep Walking

The Grace That Doesn't Rush You — A Quiet Devotional with Hannah Liu

Some seasons are not about the destination. They are about the patience of being held while you are still on the way.

In this gentle ten-minute devotional, Hannah Liu walks through three scriptures and three pictures of a God who is not in a hurry with you. From the patience of 2 Peter 3:9, to the father who ran in Luke 15, to the promise of Isaiah 40:31, this is an invitation to stop carrying the timeline of your own life and to rest in the grace that meets you in the waiting.

If you are in the middle today — between one door and the next, between the question and the answer — let this be the whisper that steadies you. You are not behind. You are not late. You are being grown.

Chapters:
0:00 — A grace that does not rush you
1:30 — A breath, and a permission to be where you are
2:30 — The patience of 2 Peter 3:9
4:30 — The father who ran — Luke 15
5:30 — The grace for the in-between
7:00 — Isaiah 40:31 — strength for the next step
8:30 — A prayer for the waiting heart
10:00 — Go gently into the rest of your day

📖 A quick burst of truth from Philippians 1:6 to start your day with purpose and clarity.

He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. Philippians 1:6 is God's guarantee that He does not start something and leave it unfinished. This five-minute devotional explores why you can trust the process, even when progress feels painfully slow.

Samuel Reeves walks through why God finishes what He starts, what it means that He is faithful to complete the work He began in your life, and how sanctification is a journey not a destination. You will hear why the fact that you are still growing is proof that God is still working, and why His timeline is not yours.

📖 A quick burst of truth from Psalm 30:5 to start your day with purpose and clarity.

Joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5 says weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. This five-minute devotional explores why sorrow is temporary and joy is the promise, and how to hold on through the longest night of your life.

Samuel Reeves walks through why David wrote this psalm after rededicating the temple, what the night represents in Scripture, and how morning is God's universal symbol for new beginnings. You will hear why your tears have an expiration date and why the darkest hour is always just before the dawn of God's faithfulness breaks through.

Have you ever noticed how often you wait for God to begin?

You wait for the right moment to pray. You wait for the right feeling before you open the door. You wait for the words before you speak them.

And while you wait, the day moves. The opportunity moves. The chance closes quietly, and you tell yourself you were not ready anyway.

But here is the truth you may have missed. The door was already open before you knocked. And the One on the other side was not waiting for you to find Him. He was already coming to find you.

In Luke chapter nineteen, Jesus says plainly why He came. He came to seek and to save the lost. He moved first. He crossed the distance.

And in John chapter six, He says the coming is itself a gift. No one can come to Him unless the Father draws them. The want you feel for Him was planted there by Someone who wanted you home.

So if you have been waiting for the moment you feel ready, hear this. The moment is already happening. You are being drawn right now. By the verse that opened. By the friend who asked the right question. By the ache that would not leave you alone.

You do not have to earn it. You do not have to clean yourself up first. You just have to stop pretending you are not being pursued.

Chapters:
0:00 — Have you ever noticed how often you wait?
1:09 — The door was already open before you knocked
2:04 — He came to seek and to save the lost
2:57 — You are being drawn right now
3:41 — Pray when you cannot find the words

If this encouraged you, share it with someone tired of waiting for permission to come home. Subscribe to Jesus 24/7 for daily Word Burst devotionals.

Peter came to Jesus with what he thought was a generous question. How many times must I forgive? Seven? Jesus answered, not seven, but seventy times seven. Then he told a story that has been breaking open proud hearts ever since.

Micah Thompson walks through the parable of the unmerciful servant in Matthew eighteen. A king cancels an impossible debt of ten thousand talents. The forgiven servant walks free. Within minutes, he finds a fellow servant who owes him a hundred silver coins and chokes him for it. The king hands him over to the jailers.

The parable asks a single piercing question. What is the debt you are holding that has become your god. The first servant received a cancellation that never reached the inside of him. His ledger changed but his heart did not. The same warning belongs to anyone who has sung about amazing grace on Sunday and refused to forgive a small debt on Monday.

A twenty minute devotion for anyone carrying an unforgiveness that has become part of their identity. The king who canceled ten thousand talents is canceling yours right now. The question is whether you have understood what you have been forgiven.

Chapters:
(00:08) The Question That Opened the Parable
(01:00) Seventy Times Seven
(01:40) The King's Impossible Debt
(03:23) The Wicked Servant
(05:01) The Jailers and the Warning

Have you ever noticed how the doors of life seem to close more often than they open? In a world full of locked gates and closed doors and walls that appear without warning, one ancient invitation runs through every closed entrance. It is short, and it is plain, and it has been waiting for you to hear it. "I am the gate," Jesus says, in John chapter ten. He is not describing a door you have to earn. He is describing a door that cannot close. This is a five-minute Word Burst devotional on the open door that never closes — the door that is Christ Himself — and on the welcome that does not require you to first become someone worth welcoming.

Word Burst is a daily devotional series on Jesus 24/7. Each episode is a short contemplative reflection on the words of Jesus — spoken slowly, read plainly, framed for the quiet moment between what you have been carrying and what comes next. Today: the gate that stands open.

Chapters:
0:00 — The Doors That Close
0:45 — Jesus Says, "I Am the Gate"
1:40 — The Weariness of the Closed Door
2:35 — Wide Enough for Everything You Carry
3:25 — The Shepherd Waiting Beside It

Scripture reference: John 10:9 — "I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture."

🙏 The hunger that food cannot satisfy. There is a kind of ache that no pantry can fill, and Samuel Reeves reflects on the daily bread God gave in the wilderness — manna that would not keep overnight — and on Jesus' words in John 6, "I am the bread of life." If you have been striving to manufacture your own bread, this is your invitation to come hungry and let Him feed you. The bread He offers does not run out, does not spoil, and does not require you to deserve it.

Scripture focus: Exodus 16 (the wilderness manna) and John 6:35 ("I am the bread of life").

⏱️ CHAPTERS
00:00 The hunger food cannot touch
00:32 The wilderness and the bread that spoiled
01:21 Jesus says, "I am the bread of life"
02:13 Bread that does not require you to be worthy
03:05 Come hungry, receive today
04:10 A prayer for tomorrow's portion

For Christian listeners who feel the deeper hunger beneath the striving, this Word Burst devotional from Jesus 24/7 offers a quiet invitation to stop manufacturing and start receiving the daily bread only God can give. Rest here for a few minutes, and let the Spirit remind you: it is enough. It was always going to be enough.
