In this first episode of the mini series; Cacao, the food of the gods, we will dive into the origin of cacao from about 5300 years ago until now. We will talk about the 4 varieties of cacao, the differences between them and we will discuss the health benefits of cacao. In this late Friday night episode we talk about love. You can love hard, love can be hard, and it can be hard to love. I share an experience of heartbreak that I personally went through quite some time ago, yet pain of that experience has been creeping up on me lately. This pain has been triggered through meeting someone new, and the fear that comes with losing someone all over again. This time I decide to actively heal, to surrender to the moment and to let go of control. I have found that it’s important to know what one would like from a potential partner, however just as important to know what one has to offer. We will talk through an example of this, which possibly gives you new insights, as it has for me. Don’t get me wrong, it hasn’t been easy, I’ve probably cried more this week than I have this whole year, but I’m trying the best I can. Overnight oats recipe (serving 1 slightly hungry person, lmao)

-20 grams of oats

-10 grams of chia seeds

-5 grams of FLAXSEEDS (I said hemp seeds lol in the episode I meant flax seeds)

-as much cinnamon as you’d like (I go crazy when it comes to cinnamon, I want to taste Christmas)

-a tiny bit of graded nutmeg (once more, I want to taste Christmas)

-tiny bit of salt (like minuscule amount, just to bring out the flavours)

—> mix dry ingredients

Add wet ingredients;

-125 grams of full fat (10%) Greek yogurt

-some water (I do this intuitively, but I guess around 75 ml?, just give it the right texture for overnight oats really)

-teaspoon (or however much you like, you little sweet tooth ;)) of your favourite sweetener (I think coconut syrup taste the best with this recipe!!! I’ve tried quite a lot, believe me, but use whatever you’ve got at hand otherwise!)

Mix everything together

Put in the fridge overnight

Get it out in the morning

Grate your favourite appel (make sure to peel them for best texture)

Mix it with the overnight oats

Chop or mash your biscuits (choose whatever you like, I love the lotus once for added Christmas flavour) into little crumbles, sprinkle over your overnight oats and VOILÀ (read in french accent pls), there you’ve got it, your new favourite breakfast, just saying ;)
