  • EP188 The Best of Assertiveness Episodes

Welcome to Episode 188 where we listen in to bits of top five most listened to episodes about assertiveness.

In this episode we will be getting on my absolute soapbox – and that is the concept of assertiveness. Over many years of studying, teaching, learning, and doing my own work around personal growth, I believe we cannot have good self-esteem if we cannot own our voice. We cannot feel empowered unless we are standing and living our truth. We cannot have healthy relationships without being in a place of choice. This is why I am building a course on this because I believe in it so much. More on that to come! This week we will listen on some of the most popular episodes about the different components of being more assertive.

    Key Elements:

    • Define what assertiveness truly is, and what it isn't
    • Talk about the core issues we must work on to speak our truth in healthy ways.
    • Look at how we must know, love and trust ourselves first.

    Without the confidence to act,

few will venture down a new path,

no matter how clear the road map.

    -W. Chan Kim

  • EP186 The Best of Healthy Needs Episodes

Welcome to Episode 186 where we highlight the top four favorite episodes about getting needs met.

In this episode we talk about how we can certainly underestimate the importance of getting our needs met in healthy ways, especially the emotional and psychological ones. We talk about why it matters to define them, own them and figure out healthier ways to get them met, because not taking ownership usually leads to some form of acting out and self-neglect.

    Key Elements:

    • Discuss how it's important to define just what our needs are beyond food, water, and shelter.
    • Look at the costs of unmet needs growing up, and how we can continue to deny them in adulthood.
    • Explore what it looks like to own our needs and take responsibility for getting them met in healthy ways.
