PaddyTalksGolf

Like many of my guests, I followed them for years! This week's chat with one of the founders of @TheClub is one I thought never possible such is their following and influence on golf's image in the modern day. I really enjoyed sitting down, remotely, with Ryan Curtis co-founder of @TheClub and discussing everything from early days of picking a make shift club up to how golf can change for the good.

Ken Kearney is on this week's show and it is conversations like this one which fuels me to keep pressing record. Ken's outlook on the game, his approach to golf, it's design, culture and his inclusive nature evokes all the great things this game can and should be for all.

I hope you enjoy the show.

Aaron joins me for a wide-ranging conversation about his career, amateur days, Jacques Leglise Trophy (where we might have met but we'll never know!), and how he approaches life at Wake Forest, supporting his athletes and walks us through the complex world of collegiate golf scholarships, NCCA rules and spending maybe too much time with Pedro O'Malley.

If you’ve listened to our other podcasts with Douglas folk, you know this one is going to be good!

I love golf, Irish Golf and especially the elite amateurs who back themselves, their game and mental wits for life on tour. Conor Purcell is one such man who has executed quite well on his plans to date. From going full time amateur, to his approach to his first year as a pro, it was refreshing and massively insightful to learn of his approach to the game.

Super chat with the one and only, Mr. Statsman himself, Conor Nolan. We are chatting all about the Masters at Augusta National this week. Is it Bryson DeChambeau's tournament to lose, is it Rory's Year, can Tiger Woods go back to back? Who are the trending up golfers statistics wise and who have we picked that might do the business this week.

Get involved, share the show, leave a review and enjoy Master's week!

This episode has been a week on the waiting list thanks to Lockdown here in Ireland however this chat was truly worth waiting for. Hugh Foley is a man with a plan, a meal plan! Looking to continue conquering the Irish Amateur scene for another year before looking at professional options, it was great to talk candidly about that Hugh Grant, Love Actually scene remake and the scenes as they unfolded in Rosapenna as he clinched the Irish Close Championship.

This episode was put together thanks to the time, honesty, transparency and collaboration of Ken Kearney, Valerie Keating, Barry Scott, Phillip Reid, Padraig MacLochlainn and Mark Ruddy.

Together we react to the Level 5 Lockdown and closure of ALL Irish Golf Courses in the Republic, what we are going to Stop, Start and Continue doing over the next few week, what we look forward to when golf does come back and whether we will approach it differently and can we as members of our golf clubs, as the Irish Golfing Community or the GUI/Golf Ireland do more for Irish Golf to promote and support the game in this country.
