This Sunday will mark the beginning of the most solemn week of the year. Holy Week starts with Palm Sunday, when we commemorate both the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, then recall The Passion of the Lord. Palm Sunday does three things for us: First, it reveals the Lord’s great love for us, a love that knows no end nor counts the cost. Second, it reminds us that there is nothing we experience in this world that the Lord has not already endured for our sake. Third, it invites us to walk the path to Jerusalem with Christ and to unite our sufferings to his, with the assurance that this is the path that leads to glory. May we take this week to prepare our hearts so that this (too) is truly a holy week.
