Death becomes us. Remember Crazytown? Really? Ok. They got in a fight with themselves. LC attends a funeral. Anthrax is a rudderless ship. Motley plays at the NFL draft. Vince Neil is grim. Tom Petty is... petty? Some pretty sweet shows on TV. LC gives his first definitive review of 72 Seasons. Some summer concert talk and a whole lot more.

The idea for this episode came from a quote, now lost, even to Google apparently, that the first four Peter Gabriel solo albums are actually a large song cycle. In exploring possible sonic connections, researching and producing this episode, we discovered evidence of that being the case.
Both within each of the self-titled albums, and between them... The individual moments within the songs on the individual albums may have drawn us there. It's those tangents that touch in the ether. The intangible connections...
All of that is underlined by the amazing, influential music on each of these incredible records created by Peter and his cohorts! Enjoy!

Let's go back and take a look at jazz at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Edward Allan Faine pulls back the curtain on the Nixon White House. Was Tricky Dick a jazz fan? After all, he did give Duke Ellington the Medal of Freedom in 1969. Who was in the band and who jammed at the “after-party”? Why did Sinatra almost get canceled, and just who that was playing piano behind some of Pearl Bailey’s set? We’ll touch on some of the more recent President’s and their bands of choice for “the best gig in town!”

Metallica have always been trailblazers in the world of heavy metal and performance. Over the last 4+decades they have entertained audiences around the world and sit on the throne as The Kings of Metal. Though at this point in their career they could coast as a nostalgia act and just play the hits, they are not resting on their laurels. On the heels of the release of their 72 Seasons album, their 11th and finest in decades (in my opinion) they have embarked on the ambitious M72 World Tour - No Repeat Weekend. Over the next 2 years, Metallica will go to a city in Europe or North American for 2 nights and won't repeat the same song - that's over 4 hours of live music! They kicked off the tour in Amsterdam in Johan Cruyff Arena April 27 & 29 and The Wolf was there to see them both.
We started this podcast when The Wolf was an expat living in London, taking in all things to do with British rock history and culture. Then he moved to Amsterdam which has a robust concert schedule and when Metallica announced they'd be kicking off their world tour there, he was in! Despite the fact that he was forced to move back to the US this spring, he made a pilgrimage back to Amsterdam so he could share the first two nights of this extraordinary tour with his listeners. The setlist was phenomenal, the stage and production were fantastic and it was great to hear the new material blend so well with the classics. Subscribe below and don't miss Part 2 out next week!

This week Tom & Zeus review the latest Off The Soundboard KISS release, KISS Off The Soundboard Poughkeepsie 1984. This live album was recorded during the Animalize tour which featured a non makeup KISS.
This is the 5th Off The Soundboard release by KISS and this one is very unique. It is the first official live album featuring beloved KISS drummer, the late great Eric Carr. This also featured short term KISS member, Mark St. John. Mark only played a couple live shows due to his unique illness. This is supposedly the only soundboard recording of his playing with KISS. He would be replaced again by Bruce Kulick.
This is SIOL's 7th live album review. The guy's breakdown the album, the tracks and of course Paul Stanley's outrageous stage banter as well. They list their top 5 favorite tracks and rank the cover (we know) and the album against the 6 live albums by KISS that were previously reviewed.
So say hello to those in Hopewell Junction and try to stay cool because it's FUCKING Hot in Poughkeepsie in November!
