We’re joined by the multi-talented David Heatley from the comfort of his car. He was kind enough to chat with me about his incredibly varied career. Music was very important to him early on. He started a few bands, like The Velvet Cactus Society and The Bischoffs. Both bands were fun, junkyard-y kind of bands. But when David kind of took creative control, he figured his next project should probably be a solo project. But in addition to his music, David has been a very successful illustrator. His creativity tends to cycle between being introverted to create his art until he starts feeling the need to be extroverted and perform. It’s served him well.
David also tells us how he would reach out to artists he admired and send them his work. It’s worked to his benefit on many occasions; the latest being his new album, Life Our Own Way. He wrote to legendary producer Mark Bingham. That led to conversations. That led to demos, which led to studio sessions, which led to the new album.
David’s new album has just come out and he’s already working on the next one. And just in case he wasn’t busy enough, he’s working on TV shows, including one based on his addiction to 12 step programs. Give him a follow @davidheatley. Buy the new album, Life Our Own Way. The Wolf & Action Jackson grew up worshipping Jimmy Page. So did Christy Alexander Hallberg and that love of Jimmy and his music, especially during his days in Led Zeppelin, inspired her novel Searching for Jimmy Page. Set in North Caroliina in 1988, we follow the story of teenage Luna who is coming to grips with her identity. Of course 1988 marked the release of Jimmy's only real solo record, Outrider, which made a big impression on Christy. We explore the story of Luna, her travels to England to find Jimmy and our experiences with Outrider, Led Zeppelin & all things Jimmy Page. Christy is super knowledgeable about the history of Led Zeppelin, made pilgrimages to LZ sites and is a talented author who put together a fun read.

Nine Inch Nails and Trent Reznor's metamorphosis is a fascinating one, and we've been there every step of the way. From NIN's early-'90s industrial roots through Trent's present-day film-composer status, we've been there cheering it on. We talk about our memories and stories connected to the NIN classic "Down In It" off of the seminal album "Pretty Hate Machine," and how NIN influenced a genre and a generation.
On the way, Stephanie M. talks about seeing her beloved Sparks in concert, our dogs' favorite songs, and the magic of dance clubs' industrial nights. Episode sponsored by BetterHelp. Proud member of Pantheon Podcasts.

This week Tom & Zeus review the 1975-1975 "Hotter Than Hell Tour." This is SIOL's 5th KISS tour reviewed. This tour was a continuation of the "KISS Tour" which was right after the debut album. The tour promoted KISS' second album Hotter Than Hell. KISS headlined some events and opened others, but they had moved up from "Special Guest" bookings. The tour added new legendary tracks from the new album and the band played everywhere and anywhere.
As usual, the guys breakdown the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour. They then rank the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour against the previous 4 tours reviewed so far.
This episode also previews this years, upcoming Shout It Out Loudcast KISS Madness Tournament. Listen to find out what the original and annual KISS tournament from SIOL is all about!
Finally, the guys also announce the "BIG NEW" they have been hinting at for over a year.
Tune in and find out...
