  • Goldmine: Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society
Lead vocalist/guitarist Zakk Wylde (ex-Ozzy Osbourne guitar slinger) comes on the Goldmine Podcast to discuss the release of Black Label Society's eleventh album, Doom Crew Inc.. Recorded at Zakk's Black Vatican home studio with the usual suspects John DeServio (bass), Dario Lorina (rhythm guitar and Jeff Fabb (drums), Doom Crew Inc.. is once again filled with fantastic Sabbath-y riffs and moving Allmans-esque guitar ballads. Doom Crew Inc. just might be the the best BLS album to date and Wylde explains why.

  • Performance Anxiety: Chris Olley (six. by seven)
Chris Olley of six by seven was kind enough to take a break from writing to join us on the podcast. We jump right into it with how difficult it is for artists to remain true to themselves. Chris also discusses how he transformed from a guitar shredder to a Neil Young disciple. His band, six by seven, was the band that should have broken here in the US but didn’t. Chris posits that it could be the band’s penchant for terrible timing. He also schools me on Cher’s Do You Believe, discusses his bizarre working relationship with Julian Cope, and how long it takes him to get sacked from any given job. He also breaks down why people believe he’s a prolific songwriter. I’d recommend following his social media, but he doesn’t have any. Check the band out at Bandcamp. There’s a lot there! Check us out on the socials @PerformanceAnx. You can treat us to coffee at ko-fi.com/performanceanxiety. Merch is found at performanceanx.threadless.com. Let’s not waste any time and get right into it with Chris Olley of six by seven on Performance Anxiety on the Pantheon Podcast Network.

  • Shout It Out Loudcast: ' On Fridays'
This week Tom & Zeus review the January 15, 1982 KISS appearance on the ABC T.V. Show Fridays. The band had released their concept album, Music From The Elder on November 10, 1981 and this is one of their only promotional appearances for the album. Since KISS did not tour for the Music From The Elder, for many fans this was the first time to see the band with a new member, Eric Carr's the Fox and also the new haircuts and costumes.
The band performed three songs live from Music From The Elder, The Oath, World Without Heroes & I. The live performances of these seldom played songs are an extreme rarity.
The guys breakdown and dissect the performance and then they rank the T.V. appearance versus the previous T.V. appearances ranked by SIOL.
Stay to the end of the episode to see who makes an appearance on "Famous Last Words!"

  • Prisoners of Rock and Roll 25: Exiled with The Rolling Stones
Exile on Main Street by the Rolling Stones is one of the greatest albums by the greatest bands in rock and roll. The story of how this record was made is a wild one. The band had fled the UK to avoid a huge tax bill, and they recorded most of it in the basement of a villa Keith Richards rented in Southern France that the Gestapo used for a headquarters in WWII. The house became a revolving door of celebrities, heroin, and music. On this episode of Prisoners of Rock and Roll, we honor the passing of great Charlie Watts by going track by track through Exile on Main Street and talking about the stories behind the album. • AllMusicPodcasts ROUNDER RECORDS "Vinyl Ventures: My Fifty Years" with Bill Nowlin
The legendary independent roots label Rounder Records was born in 1970. Founder and author Bill Nowlin said “it was a hobby that got out of control.” His new book is the story of three people with no background in business who took an idea and, through hard work and passion, built up something of lasting cultural significance.
Bill joins us to take us through those fifty years, with stories about the music business, and his partners, roots music, George Thorogood and The Destroyers, Studio One and Jamaica, 15-year -old prodigy Alison Krauss, her record with Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, and the role of record labels today.
