Party Favorz — Dance Music Podcast

Dance, 80s Dance Music Classics, 2019 — Party Favorz reimagines David Bowie for the club with a carefully sequenced tribute set that pulls highlights from across his career and translates them into an electronic context. This mix was assembled as a homage rather than a definitive anthology, focusing on remixes and re-edits that push Bowie’s melodies toward the dancefloor while respecting the original moods.

Standouts include DJ Ernani’s take on “Let’s Dance,” Julian Marsh’s soulful reworks of “Space Oddity” and “Under Pressure,” and the 7th Heaven revamp of “Rebel Rebel.” The Pet Shop Boys extended mix of “Hallo Spaceboy” and 808 State’s 1991 remix of “Sound + Vision” also surface as moments where Bowie’s songwriting adapts naturally to modern club production.

Made with affection and restraint, this 2019 set acknowledges that some of Bowie’s catalog resists literal translation while celebrating the tracks that do translate. It’s intended to introduce club listeners to Bowie’s songwriting and give longtime fans fresh production perspectives without erasing the songs that made him essential.

80s dance — The Essential 80’s Dance Mix, Volume 4 (2019) collects two hours of club-friendly pop and alternative dance from the decade. This installment is framed as a listener-ready compendium of recognizable tracks and edited club mixes, designed to bridge commercial radio hits and edgier underground moments for both newcomers and longtime fans.

The set moves from Paula Abdul’s kinetic “Straight Up” through multiple Madonna moments and Jody Watley’s R&B-tinged dance, while also nodding to the club underground with Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s “Relax,” Depeche Mode’s Tim Simenon & Mark Saunders rework of “Strangelove,” and a Razormaid-style “West End Girls.” Sequenced around Ultimix and Select Mix versions, Volume 4 favors singalong moments and remix-forward edits that keep the energy consistent across two-plus hours without losing the era’s stylistic variety.

This Circuit & Tribal House Halloween Edition from 2019 is presented as a full Dance Club set running just over three hours and built for party floors and late-night energy. The mix leans on mainroom and tribal edits while weaving in campy pop flips and theatrical moments, so expect driving percussion, big-room drops, and playful turns on familiar songs. Dirty Disco’s multiple remixes thread through the set alongside a Ralphi Rosario reboot, with club-ready treatments of Céline Dion and Madonna adding unexpected pop-house heft. Todrick Hall’s theatrical remixes and Tim Curry’s Sweet Transvestite provide the spooky, campy highlights, while contemporary reworks of Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Tones And I keep the pace current. The host notes the episode was assembled quickly and hasn’t been fully previewed, so there may be adventurous transitions or a few rough edges. If you spot any track errors, the producer asks listeners to report them, but otherwise this is a generous, “kitchen-sink” Halloween selection meant to keep spirits high and the dance floor moving.

This 2019 80s Dance compilation — The Essential 80s Dance Mix Volume 3 — is an Urban-flavored tribute to the decade’s funk, electro, R&B dance and early rap. Party Favorz spent two weeks selecting and editing tracks to create a two-hour mix that moves between chart pop, alternative dance touches, and the era’s club-forward grooves. The aim is a flowing DJ set that sketches how 80s dance floors shifted sonically while keeping momentum and familiarity.

Highlights include club-ready takes on Janet Jackson’s “Nasty,” the machine‑gun energy of Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock’s “It Takes Two,” and Run‑DMC’s rock‑rap fusion “Walk This Way.” The set pairs Grandmaster Flash’s “White Lines” with Herbie Hancock’s “Rock It” in an inventive mashup and also features Salt‑N‑Pepa’s “Push It” plus crowd-pleasing classics that trace rap’s early party moments and electro‑funk textures. Select mixes and ultimix edits give the compilation a consistently dancefloor-focused flow.

This two-hour 80s dance mix — The Essential 80s Dance Mix, Volume 2 (2019) — surveys commercial, alternative and pop-driven club sounds from the era. The set traces the Hi-NRG pulse that helped define much of the decade’s gay club culture, nodding to Patrick Cowley’s legacy while moving between radio singles and extended club versions for a true-era feel.

Highlights include Shannon’s Let The Music Play, Madonna’s Into The Groove and Express Yourself, Whitney Houston’s Love Will Save The Day, plus dance-floor turns from Michael Jackson and Pet Shop Boys. Several cuts were remastered from original vinyl; Madonna’s Into The Groove is shortened for flow and Houston’s Ultimix preserves a few period-era imperfections, keeping the texture and authenticity of the original records while maintaining mix cohesion.

80s dance classics meet crate-digger remix culture in The Essential 80s Dance Mix Vol. 1 (2019), the first of six volumes collecting club-ready edits and era-defining pop-dance cuts. This compilation traces the decade from disco’s leftover grooves into synth-driven mid‑80s pop and the nascent house sounds coming out of Chicago and New York, assembled from earlier Party Favorz sets like Pure Energy and Back 2 the 80s.

Highlights include synth-pop moments from Duran Duran, the genre-blending edge of Grace Jones, early house-flavored cuts from Anthony & The Camp, and late‑80s pop-dance turns from Neneh Cherry. The mix leans on well-known remix sources — Ultimix, Hot Classics, Select Mix and Edge — to give familiar songs a consistent, DJ-friendly flow.

Running roughly two and a half hours, this volume favors extended and club mixes (Samantha Fox, Whitney Houston among them) to recreate a continuous dancefloor experience that spans the decade’s stylistic shifts while staying firmly in the realm of 80s dance music.

Funky House and NuDisco mix for 2019 — Party For The Weekend is a fall-ready set of soulful, dancefloor-focused grooves built to warm cooler nights. This episode opens with Andy Bach’s rebuilt intro to “Systematic,” a piano-led house take on a Toto groove, then moves into a string of NuDisco and classic-disco revivals that define the Funky House series.

Highlights include three fresh Purple Disco Machine cuts and Roberto Surace’s “Joys” in a Purple Disco Machine extended remix, plus an 80s-flavored Seamus Haji rework of Haji & Emanuel’s “Weekend.” Horse Meat Disco teams with Kathy Sledge for a lush Joey Negro disco blend, and Roisin Murphy gets a Dimitri From Paris & Aeroplane makeover for a glossy, retro vocal moment. Expect loving remakes of disco classics, tasteful extended mixes, and a warm, soulful flow that balances home listening with late-night party energy.

This 2019 Peak Hour mix leans into underground tech house, breaks, drum & bass, electro and progressive house with an intentionally immersive, two-hour rollercoaster ride. Party Favorz builds tension with big drops, slow climbs and abrupt turns rather than a relaxed chill session, so expect intensity balanced by brief respites. The set opens with Robbie Rivera’s remix of Dave Winnel’s “Smoke Machine” as a tease and saves Eli Brown’s title cut “Change The Situation” for a later, climactic moment.

Highlights include club-ready turns from Patrick Topping and Mark Knight, a moody Reinier Zonneveld moment, and CamelPhat’s rework of Dirty Vegas placed among peak-hour heat. The mix pushes through bass house and breaks as readily as tech house, showcasing crowd-pleasing edits alongside deeper underground selections. The cover uses “Resist” imagery — a nod to global protests and the underground’s role as a voice for change — while the set keeps the focus squarely on the music and the journey.
