Party Favorz — Dance Music Podcast

An 80s dance mix from The Diva Series assembled in 2018, this episode spotlights Debbie Harry and Blondie with a clear dancefloor focus. It traces how New Wave and punk-era songs like Heart Of Glass and Atomic were reshaped for clubs, pulling together official remixes, later releases, and a few bootlegs to map the band’s and Harry’s durable club appeal.

Highlights lean on club-ready reworks rather than nostalgia: Shep Pettibone’s Heart Of Glass, Giorgio Moroder’s Good Boys, Armand Van Helden’s New York New York, Eric Kupper edits and a Danny Tenaglia club mix round out the sequence. The set balances Blondie singles, Debbie Harry solo moments and contemporary reinterpretations to show why Harry became a Studio 54 icon and a touchstone for queer and club communities. Party Favorz inducts Debbie Harry into its Diva Hall of Fame with affectionate, dancefloor-first context.

House, D&B, techno and trance converge in this 2018 Diva Hall of Fame tribute to Shirley Manson and Garbage. Party Favorz gathers club-ready remixes from the 90s to show how alt‑rock hits were reshaped for raves and late-night DJ sets, arguing these versions helped steer dance styles into the new millennium.

Shirley Manson’s commanding vocals remain the through-line while heavy remix hands refocus texture and rhythm. Highlights include Nellee Hooper’s No. 1 Crush, Crystal Method’s drum‑and‑bass overhaul of I Think I’m Paranoid, and Felix Da Housecat’s take on Androgyny, with long-club treatments from Danny Tenaglia and Victor Calderone. Rabbit In The Moon and MaUVe darken familiar tracks into peak-time weapons, illustrating how 90s remix culture sometimes foregrounded the producer as much as the song.

This set is a selective, club-minded celebration of Garbage as an unconventional diva — provocative, influential, and entirely at home on a dancefloor.

House and Hip Hop tribute, Diva Hall of Fame series, 2018 — this episode gathers En Vogue’s biggest moments remixed for the dancefloor. This Dance Music entry in the Diva Hall of Fame (2018) honors Dolly Parton with a set of remixes and extended edits that reframe her country-pop classics for the club. Party Favorz assembled versions that span tropical, disco, arena and tougher house treatments to show how Dolly’s songwriting and voice translate across electronic styles.

Highlights include Kygo’s take on “Jolene,” a disco-styled “Baby I’m Burnin’,” Chris’ disco mix of “Downtown,” Mark Kamin’s harder “Walking on Sunshine,” Boy Wunder’s “Two Doors Down,” and Junior’s expansive “Peace Train” Arena Anthem. The selection keeps Dolly’s melodies and storytelling front and center while letting producers stretch tempos and textures for peak-floor moments.

More than a tribute to individual remixes, this episode argues that Dolly’s cultural reach and longstanding support for LGBTQ communities help explain why remixers keep returning to her catalog. Party Favorz inducts Dolly into the Diva Hall of Fame with affection and respect.

Funky House — Disco Cherry (2018) is a nearly two‑hour Nu Disco, funk and soulful mix assembled to get you dancing. This episode collects modern reworks and straight disco edits, balancing contemporary producers with updated classics across Nu Disco, space disco and soulful house.

Highlights include Mousse T. feat. Taz & Inaya Day, Purple Disco Machine, Dirty Disco feat. Debby Holiday’s Imagination (Special 12" Disco Classic Remix), Barry Harris’s 2018 Monster Mix of Cerrone’s Supernature, Blondie’s Heart of Glass (Rob Garza Remix), and a house update of the Rolling Stones’ Gimme Shelter (V’s Uncovered Mix). There’s also an important correction in the set notes: the Ceevox rendition of “Imagination” is a reworking of Gladys Knight & the Pips’ early‑70s original, and Dirty Disco’s releases revisit that song in both classic disco and updated forms.

If you enjoy tasteful remixes that honor source material while pushing grooves forward, this Disco Cherry mix ties those threads together with steady flow and plenty of boogie-ready moments.
