Party Favorz — Dance Music Podcast

This is an EDM Club Fusion mix from the Blow Your Own Horn series, 2014 edition, assembled as a continuous New Year’s dance-party set. Ken mashed together the standout record fragments of 2013 with a few 2012 favorites to create an uninterrupted, nearly two-hour party flow meant to be heard start to finish.

The set leans on pop-EDM anthems and festival-ready remixes, with notable turns for Calvin Harris (Nicky Romero remix), David Guetta feat. Sia (Nicky Romero remix), Zedd feat. Foxes (Starkillers NYE Booty Mix), Avicii’s Wake Me Up (Ken Rock Extended Mix), Lana Del Rey (Cedric Gervais remix), and Swedish House Mafia (Promise Land remix). Ken experimented with new mash-up software on the first half and finished the mix using his usual tools, trimming and splicing to keep momentum for a New Year’s crowd.

There is no cue file for this release; it’s designed as a single continuous party set. Happy New Year from Ken, and enjoy the ride into 2014.

This Club Fusion EDM mix—Top Dance Songs of 2013, Volume 4—serves as a final year-end snapshot and a mix-ready time capsule of 2013’s mainstream dance sounds. Running just under 78 minutes, the set collects remixes and extended edits that defined clubs and radio alike while reflecting on how major-label tactics shaped the year’s sonic character.

Highlights include Chris Malinchak’s warm house rework, Avicii’s genre-blending Wake Me Up, and Alesso’s big-room remix approach, with Tiesto’s festival-ready touch adding heft to the sequence. The mix also nods to the disco revival sparked by Daft Punk and its downstream influence on NuDisco-leaning tracks, and it surveys pop-to-club conversions from Lady Gaga and other crossover artists.

Party Favorz uses this fourth volume to mark the end of the series and to look ahead: EDM’s commercial peak left room for unexpected winners, and the program positions listeners for whatever “the next big thing” in dance music brings in 2014 and beyond. Enjoy.

This episode is an EDM Club Fusion roundup — Top Dance Songs of 2013, Volume 1 — built to capture how mainstream pop and club culture intersected that year. The mix distills picks informed by Beatport, Billboard’s Dance Club chart, and listener feedback into a seamless set that highlights remix-driven crossover hits and festival-ready originals. Expect familiar pop remixes and club edits threaded with indie-EDM moments. Highlights include Katy Perry’s “Roar” (Cosmic Dawn Club Remix), Rihanna’s “The Monster” feat. Eminem (Majestic Audio Bootleg), and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” (The Thin Red Men Club Mix), alongside Tegan & Sara’s “Closer” (Sultan & Ned Shepard Remix), Empire of the Sun’s “Alive” (Zedd Remix), and the Calvin Harris mix of Fatboy Slim & Riva Starr’s “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat.” The selection favors vocal-led remixes and synth-forward originals that mapped 2013’s dance floors without trying to be encyclopedic. It’s a subjective time capsule—one installment of a four-part series—meant to spark debate and nostalgia while showcasing the year’s crossover energy and club-friendly production.

Circuit & Anthems Holiday Edition 2013 is a year-end, diva-forward club mix built for the circuit and peak-hour floors. This Holiday Edition collects circuit, house, and progressive remixes across a roughly 100-minute set intended as a festive sendoff for the year.

Highlights land on big-voiced moments and anthem-ready remixes: Razor N Guido opens with Erasure’s Gaudete, Paulo vs. Rauhofer resurfaces Lady Gaga’s Applause in a mashup, and Papercha$er reinvents Martha Wash’s It’s My Time. DJ Laszlo supplies a muscular club take on Celine Dion while Rosabel revisits Donna Summer’s MacArthur Park, and Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive gets a modern club rework.

The mix favors vocal-driven peaks and singalong-ready transitions, balancing classic diva material with contemporary pop reworks. It’s designed for holiday dancefloor energy but holds up as a compact collection of circuit-ready remixes for any party set.

A Diva Hall of Fame tribute focusing on Donna Summer’s club legacy, assembled in 2013 to celebrate the latter half of her career. This circuit- and house-forward mix highlights the remixes and reworks that kept her on dancefloors long after the 1970s peak, concentrating on extended club versions and a couple of bootleg classics.

Expect seminal club takes from Ralphi Rosario and Thunderpuss, Rosabel’s dramatic Main Vox edit of “I Will Go With You,” and Junior Vasquez’s revision of “Whenever There Is Love.” Earlier bootleg energy arrives courtesy of Eddie Baez and a DJ Memê re-edit, while the selection as a whole underscores why Summer continued to rack up Billboard club hits into the 2000s. The set is a personal, measured salute from a longtime fan who credits Donna Summer with shaping their dance-music education.
