Dr. Sheri DeSchaaf completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Chapman University in 2011. After working several years in outpatient orthopedics, she began her specialization in women's health and pelvic floor physical therapy, completing extensive post-doctoral education in prenatal, postnatal, and pelvic floor conditions. Her compassion for the unspoken physical trials of new mothers has fostered the desire to offer natural, conservative treatment options for issues that uniquely impact women.
Dr. Sheri currently specializes in pre and postnatal pelvic floor therapy, as well as whole-body wellness. Anything that might bother a new, expecting, or even an OLD mother, Dr. Sheri is passionate about providing guidance and relief. This includes common complaints such as bladder leakage or urgency, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, core and abdominal weakness, diastasis recti, back, hip, or other aches and pains, and of course safe and healing exercise during and after pregnancy!
Dr. Sheri founded SHEFit PT in 2014 to fill the void of pre and postnatal rehabilitative care. She believes quality care requires personalized, one-on-one attention, and is dedicated to hearing your story and creating a treatment plan based on your unique situation, goals, and priorities.
When not treating patients, Sheri enjoys spending time with her 3 young children, running, Pilates, weightlifting, hiking, beach-cruising on the boardwalk, cooking, travelling, and watching her husband Jay play beach volleyball.
