-The man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson is behind bars in Pennsylvania after he was arrested in Altoona. He will be facing murder charges in New York. As KYW Newsradio's Tim Jimenez reports the suspect has ties to Philadelphia and investigators say he even stopped in the city after last week’s shooting.
-Police have arrested a man they say vandalized a Wawa in Mayfair. It happened around 12:30 this morning at the store at Roosevelt Boulevard and Tyson Avenue. The store was closed at the time. Several gas pumps were smashed up -- the computer screens bashed in, and at least one nozzle and hose appeared to have been ripped from the pump. Police say the man also started a fire between the pumps, but firefighters extinguished it. The 37-year-old man was arrested and is facing arson charges.
-Philadelphia finally has a new Health Commissioner. Nearly a year into her term, Mayor Cherelle Parker has elevated a doctor already working for the Health Department. KYW’s City Hall Bureau Chief Pat Loeb reports.
-He was a "good kid" who did his best to avoid neighborhood violence in Bristol, Bucks County. But, in December 2020, he became a victim of that violence. Now, his killer has been found guilty of third degree murder. KYW Suburban Bureau Chief Jim Melwert reports.
