Tomorrow, December 1st, SEPTA's first fare increase in seven years will take effect.
The SEPTA Board approved the 7-and-a-half-percent hike last week following public hearings in October.
Now the Travel Wallet fares on buses, subways, and trolleys will be two-fifty ($2.50)--same as the cash fare.
And most single-trip fares on Regional Rail will increase as well. But all daily, weekly, and monthly passes will stay the same price.
SEPTA expects the fare adjustments to generate more than 14 million dollars in additional annual revenue. Last Friday, Governor Josh Shapiro announced stopgap funding that allowed SEPTA to postpone a more-than-21-percent fare increase that was slated to start on January 1st. You can find full details on tomorrow's fare increases on SEPTA's website.
