A surge in crashes caused by DUI in Clovis has led to a new crackdown in area as the holidays approach. The prosecution rests its case against Kim Potter, the former police officer that allegedly mistook her gun for her taser and killed a suspect who attempted to flee arrest with officers clinging to her vehicle. In an effort to avoid break-ins on their vehicles, some Bay Area folks are leaving doors unlocked and trunks open. The effectiveness of the tactic has not yet been verified.
