The Philadelphia Phillies have hired long-time coach, Don Mattingly, to be the Bench Coach for the 2026 season. Mattingly has manager experience, as well, having led the Dodgers and Marlins in his career. He's worked with Phillies Manager Rob Thomson before, and has spent the last few years with the Toronto Blue Jays. Why is this important? Because he's spent the last few years with free agent, Bo Bichette. Can the Phillies use Mattingly to help land the free agent infielder?
