It's so easy to put yourself last on the priority list, right? Whether you're a teacher, a parent or a business owner, we usually wake up and start pouring into others (or in the case of a business owners, we pour into the business).
As our day goes along, we're super busy being of service to others, putting out fires and running around.
Then, IF there is time at the end of the day, and IF you aren't too exhausted, you might do something to take are of yourself.
I'm asking you...pleading with you...to flip this.
I read a story this morning about a teacher who woke up one Sunday morning and couldn't move her arm. She had taken on so many responsibilities that she worked herself into exhaustion.
Please don't let this happen to you.
Whether you go for a walk, meditate, sit down to a nice breakfast, journal, listen to music, take a bubble bath, or just sit and do nothing, take some time at the beginning of your day to do something for YOU. You deserve it.
As they say, you can't pour from an empty cup - meaning you can't be the best teacher, parent, business owner, or friend if you don't take care of yourself first.
You're no doubt excellent at caring for others. Be excellent at caring for yourself as well.
You've got this!
