This week we talk about some of. the most controversial books of the "In Death" series and why they are so controversial. This topic came from a posting on a Goodreads group, where the original poster said they thought "Conspiracy in Death." We give their reason for that, and our rebuttal.

We put up a poll on Instagram asking: What's the most controversial book? And gave everyone the option of "Origin," "Faithless," "Innocent" or Other. "Innocent" won with 40% of the vote. "Origin" was next with 30% and then "Faithless" with 20%.

We discuss all of these and why we think they were controversial. We also discuss other books mentioned by listeners: Brotherhood, Divided and Shadows.

And we ask the question that really didn't need to be asked: Would Roarke walk up on stage at the Oscars and slaps someone because they made a joke about Eve? Or would Eve slap someone over a joke about Roarke?

"Origin in Death" is a book that is really jam-packed with great stuff to read! It's got probably one of the most insane plots in this whole series, that has a lot of heavy moral questions attached to it.

And in the midst of that, we get Roarke's entire Irish family coming for Thanksgiving, Eve having some conflicted feelings when her "work spouse," Morris, is seen flirting with the gorgeous Amarylis Coltrane, we meet Cher Reo for the first time, all the girls get together for a spa evening, and Eve gets another tattoo AND Eve has a fight with Mira. PLUS...the ending has robot spiders (which are NOT okay), an army of clones, and the bad guy pushes the "self destruct" button for the building and Eve and Roarke have only a few minutes to make it out before the whole place blows...it's a LOT!

Some of our very favorite quotes come from this book. There's some really great banter between Eve and Roarke and/or Eve and Peabody.

Eve inviting Crack to their Thanksgiving dinner was so sweet.

Eve having to deal with meeting Roarke's whole family is just funny, especially her exchange with Roarke's cousin, Sean.

There's also a very controversial ending where Eve purposely lets the main suspect(s) get away.

So much to talk about here.

Also, as we know...this case becomes a pivotal point in both Nadine and Eve's careers, and becomes something that creates many plots and subplots for the rest of the series.

It's the book that keeps on giving!!

For those of you waiting for us to talk about "Brazen" on Netflix, the time is finally here!! This week AJ and Jen are by themselves and we thought it was the perfect time (since Tara really doesn't read Nora Roberts books) to finally watch the movie and talk about it!

This movie was based on Nora's book, "Brazen Virtue." Jen has not read this book for many years, and AJ hadn't either, but did download the book and skim it before and after watching the movie. Because of this, we had slightly different overall impressions of the movie.

Jen ended up liking the movie overall, though, she wasn't happy with the casting, mostly with Ed and Ben. We feel like for some reason, for this movie, they decided to make Ben more of the "quirky sidekick" instead of the hunky manly-man partner.

AJ was not happy with the casting of Alyssa Milano, because she's not a fan. But she disliked the movie in general because it deviated so much from the book.

We all know that Nora is the "Queen of Dialogue," so...why not use her dialogue??

Why did we need to add a bunch of characters??

If you haven't seen it yet, we suggest going into it without having read the book, or at least having not read the book for a long time. You might find it entertaining, like Jen did.

A slight mea culpa for anyone out there who's a Van Halen fan...AJ should have looked up the name of their bass player, but said it wrong. It's not Anthony Michael, but Michael Anthony.

"Abandoned in Death" is the worst book since "Conspiracy in Death." Dead Fucking Serious.

Eve is not on the edge of death, and not even in a fight. She's getting old.

Nora is disinterested and lazy and has forgotten us!

Really, people are just upset Eve and Roarke haven't had babies yet.

Those of us who have stuck with this series for so long are really just hanging on for the characters. Admit it.

Eve may have the "Fasty-Brain-Go-Gos."

We really want to know why assholes who write bad reviews get ARC's, and WE don't!!!

This series is repetitive, and really, so are we. Especially when we put good reviews of Susan Eriksen in every WRTR episode!

We love the 4 and 5 star reviews too, even though AJ would like some of them to dial it down just a tiny bit.
