Opinion

The music in this show if it is mainstream music, is illegal (see http://www.davidjackson.org/legal (www.davidjackson.org/legal) ) The intro seemed to play twice in a row with the second one the volume was much lower. Then when you introduce each other, you didn't let me know what you were going to talk about today, and you didn't get to any music in the beginning of the show. So I didn't know where I was going, and I tuned into to talk about hip-hop and you talked about movies. The audio sounded good, but the volume levels are a bit over the place.

With over 20 years in the BDSM community and the mental health field I have gained a unique understanding and respect for the alternative lifestyle. As BDSM has become more mainstream it is important that people become informed and educated about truth of the BDSM community instead of letting inaccurate books and movies shape minds, opinions, and lifestyles in a way that is both incorrect and unhealthy. Myself and guests, from porn stars to pastors, will dive deep into all sides of the lifestyle to paint an accurate, informed, and unbiased picture of BDSM and the surprising truth behind the psychology of participants.

I liked that you explained what the show is about, what the episode is about, and I liked the attitude of the show explaining how its about relationships and safety. The audio was good, and I thought you might've gone off the rails for a second with the I need coffee, but you kept that brief and got right to the content. You did, "right after this" twice, so it was kind of a "hey you said we'd get to the content..." not a big deal. I'm listening super intently, and the average listener wouldn't probably pick that up.

The intro could use a sentence to remind people what the post was about. You did a good job of getting to the content. I liked that you weren't reading, or over producing the show. It was you talking to me about the cold war.

Opinion

The intro didn't do much for me with an interesting French accent that made it somewhat hard to understand and hear. Your first couple of words I believe were lost under the music. The introduction of your guest was OK, I would lead with the biggest credentials )11 years gluten-free, and gluten free chef instead of "she's awesome." Then you explain how you were at an event. That's great and gives you credibility. You introduce your guest, and then you basically repeat much of what you just said. I thought the audio was fin (you did have a few plosives, so be sure to have some sort of windscreen). It's not a bad start, but you need to brush up on a few items. As this was your fifth episode, you're doing great.

Description

Welcome to Collected Clan ... The podcast about outstanding people I've met along the way. People with interesting stories, triumphs, and ideals. People who've made their mark in the world and in my life. I'm your host Gregory Byerline. I've met a lot of people over the years, and many people come and go. Shakespeare wrote 'All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances.'

But these people are the company that you keep. Everyday people just like you and me. Lots of interesting conversations heading your way as we talk about life's ups, downs, and all arounds.

Opinion

I liked the production and the audio quality wasn't horrible. You did a good job of explaining what the show was about. You explained some of the behind the scenes drama that was going on, but for me, you didn't give me anything beyond "runner, homeschooler, encourager" to make me think, "I can't wait to hear about this!" There was a brief clip of the interview, but for me, I would've liked a little more meat to the introduction. You did a good job of keeping the feedback short with the reviews.

The musical intro could be shortened up a bit, and you got to your guest fairly frequently. There was a bit of a "let's get to the guest, no wait, please share the episode, now let's get to the guest" kind of shuffle that seemed jarring. I would highlight the word Rubik's Cube more in your show title (move it closer to the title) and your description. You use a lot of jargon that people in your niche know, but what would they type in to find you. My guess is Rubik's Cube. Also your website address doesn't seem to work (and redirect to https://thecornercutterpodcast.wordpress.com/ (https://thecornercutterpodcast.wordpress.com/) )

Opinion

I closed my eyes when I listened to this as the idea is the show is supposed to put me to sleep. I was looking for you to get to the rambling part quickly (which you did). For me the whispering caused me to focus more to understand you, and the fact that the voice drifted from left to right headphone I found distracting. I would record your voice in mono to avoid that. The idea was to read to me a story of Marco Polo for his Wikipedia page. I'm not sure that is boring enough to put me to sleep. I think the goal is to be boring with just saying random words of jibberish. For me, I don't see this achieving the goal of putting me to sleep.

Clay had asked for a specific first impression. "Hey Dave, I am just curious of your first impression of this latest episode (drops on 4/4) My guest was recording using iphone earbuds/microphone from a loud bar... I think it came out good considering.. Plus I just like the exposure I get from getting on your show... Thanks Clay"

I liked the intro, the high energy music, and the way you let everyone know quickly what the show is about. You had a fun time with introducing your guest and as the guest authored a joke book about shrimp, you know the interview wasn't going to be super serious. As a musician, I can't stand music behind an interview as I'm to A.D.D. for that. A non-musician may not have that issue. I thought his microphone sounded fine, and the bar noises weren't too loud. You had announced that he was in a bar, so any bar noises would be forgiven if they snuck into the recording.

Opinion

You did a great job of explaining what was on the show, and then getting right to the content. The production was good. I got a little confused with the first topic but the speaker did a good job of clarifying his point at the end, and you came and kept the ball rolling. The music was good, the audio quality was good, the only thing is you say YWAM super fast. This may be the way people in your circle pronounce it (and I'm outside bubble) but you might want to slow down just a touch (cause you want to sound excited, but people haven't had a chance to hear your rythm yet). Other than that, I thought if I was in YWAM this would be a show that would pump me up.

Replicating a visual medium through story telling and other fun stuff

Website

Opinion

Granted this is your fourth episode, but the intro while well produced didn't really let me know what the show was about, or what to expect. It was over a minute long and then lead to illegal music and another intro. Get to the content quicker, and the big thing missing for me was what the show is about (welcome to Memes in the Morning where we _) and then a quick blurb (On today's show we talk about __). As your show is very visual, you need to keep in mind that your listeners can't see what you are talking about. This means you need to be super descriptive audio podcast. Another alternative is to do a video podcast. When trying to download your episode in Apple iTunes it took forever. Squarespace makes great looking websites, but their downloads speeds are horrible as a podcast host. You might check out http://Libsyn.com (Libsyn.com) and see about migrating over (you can get a free month using the coupon code sopfree).
