Hersh, Today I sat down with one of my hero's, Bro. Ronnie Baker. we talked about some of his experiences in his ministry. He has pastored several churches and has  been a  steady voice during troubled times for many folks. With over 50 years in the ministry, he is definitely someone worth  listening  to. He ended with sharing his recent transition from pastoring to traveling again as well as telling how God gave a special call to him to visit the hospitals. Enjoy!

Hershall, We had a Thanksgiving pod'n meetin' where the boys went ahead and gave me the raw definition of what thanks-giving really means. We had Josh Vaughn on the church bench today to help us with our musing (big-is type word) about dishes on the table at Thanksgiving. we ended with a bit of talk about commercialism and people trying to up sale. Hersh, It was an honor to have you call in but there was a lot that happened while you weren't on the podcast today. The singer of the show, Trey Brock (aka my nephew) called in unannounced! I really thought things were going pretty normal til we found out Wile E. Coyote was in danger at Brad's house. Yes, Hersh, he put some of the Coyote's kindred on the table as food. Hersh, I'm here with a friend of mine who is a bit on the touchy side about his name. Let's just say, don't shorten his first name and don't add to his last. It is Doug-las Meadow as in singular as in ONE grass covered field- MEADOW. Whew, I thought we'd never get that through your head. Anyhow, Rev. Meadow is a big fan of preacher's kids (helpful hint: he is one and he has 3 of his own). This is another totally off the cuff episode with my listener Hershall (Jud Ingram). He's a great friend that really DID have Covid 19 and a tough case. He has just recovered thankfully. In no way are we trying to make light of the virus that has taken the lives of so many loved ones and friends. We are thankful for all who have recovered and know that this is something that we are all trying to work through. All that being said, I wanted to release this episode to let everyone know my plans. First off, Hershall, this is a long episode, but cut me a little slack, its has been a month since you've even heard from me. Today I sat down with a couple of parishioners... A deacon and song leader. Hersh, the deacon happens to be one of my best friends. I mean the guy knows some stuff about me. We got together to have what we all thought was going to be a light hearted conversation and it ended up being down right serious at times. We did cover some important stuff though like my use of circumlocution (big word alert) while preaching, Elmer Fudd references, and how singing on the job can cause some folks to become patriotic.
