Police are investigating after a Labour Party candidate was allegedly assaulted following an election debate earlier this week. Angela Roberts, who's standing in the Taranaki-King Country electorate, says a man grabbed her shoulders, shook her and slapped her cheeks with both hands after the debate in Inglewood on Tuesday night. She has filed a report with police, and they're making inquiries. The Labour Party leader Chris Hipkins says he is very concerned about the incident, and candidates seem to be feeling more at risk this election campaign than in previous years.
