The New York Mets played a sloppy game and showed shades of a hangover from the emotional series sweep against the Phillies, as they fell to to Miami Marlins 7-4. 

Defensively, the Mets made too many little mistakes that directly led to runs for the Marlins including a pair of errors that came around to score. 

Clay Holmes got the start and labored through five innings of work, serving up a ton of hard hit contact. 

Offensively, Pete Alonso hit his 30th home run of the season to get the Mets back even at 4-4, but that was short lived. 

Tomorrow, the Mets will look for a bounce back and there will certainly be some excitement as Jonah Tong will make his major-league debut.
