It was a full team effort to put the New York Mets back in the win column, as they took the opener of the series from the St. Louis Cardinals, 9-3.

 The Mets got a quality start from Clay Holmes, backed up by multi-hit performances from Juan Soto, Brandon Nimmo, Pete Alonso, Francisco Alvarez and Jesse Winker. It was a good day at the dish for the Mets, with every single starter grabbing a hit. 

It's the Mets 5th straight win against the Cardinals this season, and their 9th in a row dating back to last season. They will go for their 6th in a row and the series win tomorrow, with Tylor Megill on the mound.
