They got the help they needed in Milwaukee, but the New York Mets couldn't hold up their end of the bargain and their 2025 season is over. Miami defeated them by a final of 4-0.

The story of this one was the offense for the Mets. They left 10 men on base and went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position, unable to cash in on opportunities in both the 5th and 8th innings to get on the board. 

Sean Manaea started the final game of the season and gave the Mets just five outs before Carlos Mendoza decided to circle the wagons and turn to the pen. It was the middle group of Brooks Raley, Ryne Stanek and Tyler Rogers that combined to give the four runs that put the Marlins in front in the 4th. 

From 45-24 to out of the postseason, the second half of the season for the Mets is one of the more frustrating and disappointing ones in recent memory and now they'll turn their attention to working on putting together a better team for 2026.
