5 Bar Showdown and Korea Nationals Update
Josh announced a new event, the 5 bar showdown, which combines U.S.A. Weightlifting and U.S.A. Powerlifting. The event will take place on October 20th in Beauford, Georgia, and is open for registration with a limit of 40 lifters. Lastly, Josh mentioned a new lifter tip submitted anonymously that he intended to discuss.
Addressing Weaknesses in Technique Training
Josh addressed the issue of weaknesses in technique and lack of direction in training. He suggested a simplification approach to identify and correct these issues. He recommended recording slow-motion videos of the exercises, focusing on one at a time, and making corrections in real time. He also suggested setting up a camera to observe oneself from the side during the exercises to better understand the correct sequence and feel of the movements. Josh emphasized that this approach has been successful for many and encouraged starting with light weights to maintain focus on the lift.
Karaoke Song Lists and Powerlifting Interview
Josh led a discussion about various karaoke song lists, including the blacklist, graylist, cyanlist, greenlist, orange list, and pink list. He provided reasoning for each song choice and encouraged participation in voting for the top karaoke songs, which would be announced via Instagram.
