More on the alleged 'permitting reforms' on the mining and transporting of fossil fuels, demanded by both democrats and republicans, is nothing but a big scam. It's a scam in terms of environmental concerns, in addition to violating the rights of communities where these pipelines and mining interest will situate their operations. This is about so much more than the Mountain Valley Pipeline Both parties are working overtime to render two environmental laws, namely NEPA and the Clean Water Act--impotent. 

Add to that the 'carbon capture & storage' scheme, and you have a 'perfect storm' of lies, half-truths, misinformation and other forms of obfuscation which some call 'greenwashing.' I call it criminal enterprise aided and abetted by our corrupt political system.

Not once during her 70 year reign did she EVER apologize to the many indigenous peoples attacked and colonized by the British Empire. Not once during her 70 year reign did she EVER speak of reparations. The coverage of her passing and the coverage of the younger royals is vapid and dangerous. It is time to tell the truth. 

On EJR, I will speak of the campaign to stop Joe Manchin's dirty pipeline deal. I will also speak to the dire warning sent by scientists about the future of life on this planet.

This is a special broadcast today. It deals with the hypocrisy of our government as they have forgiven PPP loans to the 1% without hardly any payment offered, while information leaked out that the Biden administration has entered talks to privatize COVID vaccines and antiviral medicines which were largely subsidized by taxpayers. I published a piece which I will present today. 

I will also offer a some commentary regarding the speech President Biden gave calling out some republicans as 'semi' fascist. I disagree with President Biden. The GOP of Trump is not 'semi' fascist; they are full blown fascists.

The Biden administration is discussing plans to shift the cost of COVID vaccines and treatment to patients. Discussions are taking place which could make the current state of medical care apartheid far worse than before. These discussions were reported by Kenny Stancil writing for Commondreams. Stancil's source? The Wall Street Journal. Hardly a lefty publication. If the Biden administration abandons us in favor of BIg Pharma, many patients, including Medicare, Medicaid and yes--ACA patient would be denied monclonals and anti-viral treatments since they were approved on an emergency basis and are considered 'experimental.' WIthout such treatments, many COVID patients will die agonizing deaths like they did before such treatments were available.Ironically, these vaccines and treatments were developed so rapidly because they were based on NIH funded research aka funded on the public dime!

We begin this week's show with an interview of Florida activist Susan Lee, conducted by our colleague and founder, Rick Spisak. This interview will shed light on the growing authoritarian abuses of Ron DeSantis. 

Nex, as predicted, Donald Trump is whining that the FBI raid on Mar-A-Lago was 'politically' motivated, and as usual, Trump is undeniably WRONG. If Donald Trump had been an ordinary citizen who helped to organize and incite the January 6th Insurrection, he would already be sitting in a jail cell, as he is a flight risk. There is far too much solid evidence to indict Trump at least for incitement, and evidence tampering/destruction. There is no false equivalence here. Donald Trump is, once again, attempting to subvert democratic rule, in accordance with his perverted desire to be a dictator. Period. We will discuss this issue, and related claims by DeSantis. The time has come to demand that every republican who had any role in aiding and abetting the insurrectionists, to face criminal charges just like ANYONE ELSE. 

And we will have our equally infamous "Jackass of the Week" award.

Afterwards, we will take a two week hiatus, but will come roaring back in September.

The much heralded Manchin-Schumer Reconciliation bill is a SCAM. The tax reforms which originally included the eradication of the 'carried interest loophole' (which allows the rich to hide their true wealth), has been tossed thanks to Senator Kyrsten Sinema. Ironically, that's not the worst of this dirty dog of a deal. The 'alleged' environmental reforms, (which do include some tax monies for cleaner, renewable energy sources such as solar and wind), comes with a giant giveaway to the fossil fuel inudstry in terms of cheap, taxpayer subsidized opportunities for fossil fuel producers to lease PUBLIC LANDS for pennies on the dollar. This foul deal has been called out by some environmentalists as a major "climate bomb." One of the giveaways is the Mountain Valley Pipeline which carries shale gas. What mainstream media doesn't tell you is that 'shale' gas IS tar sands oil, the dirtiest of all fossil fuels. Furthermore, this pipeline will not benefit the American people with lower prices at the pump, as the tar sands being transported are destined for export to other nations. 

You have been lied to and now is the time to demand substantive reform. 

And of course, we have our "Jackass of the Week" Award.

Just this past week, former presidential candidate Andrew Yang (along with a bevy of corporate dems and republicans), announced the formation of a THIRD political party, aka the Forward Together Party. In a vapid op-ed, published in the Washington Post, they posted the political version of 'somewhere over the rainbow,' as neo-Nazis scream louder through the media. Yang and his bunch, (which includes GOP pol Christine Todd Whitman), push a series of dangerous and libelous false equivalencies between the progressive Left, and the Trumpist GOP filled to the brim with white supremacists, Christian Nationalists pushing a dangerous theocratic model, and open Neo-Nazis. 

Somehow, Yang's call to sing "kumbaya" falls flat. It takes a special kind of tone deafness to the suffering of minorities to push what can only be considered a unilateral surrender to Trumpist Nazis--for the benefit of white corporatists who are becoming nervous. I will discuss Yang's silly plan, (which is far too similar to the cowards Vichy), and the political reality of advancing Nazism.

This Sunday, I will discuss the blatant growth of Nazism in conservative ranks. It is evidenced in the ranks of our military and police nationwide. We witness it on school boards and the governor's mansion. It is rampant throughout the GOP. This is not to say that all republicans are racists or Nazis. Unfortunately, those republicans who remain silent to this hostile takeover by actual NAZIS--are complicit. I will discuss the insectional nature of racism to Nazism, going back to the infamous Nuremburg Laws of the Hitler era. I will then link this discussion to the epidemic of anti-CRT laws which seek to actively and permanently censor our teachers.
