The IHRA definition of antisemitism was never about protecting Jewish people. According to guests Dr Ranjeet Brar— surgeon, Communist Party of Great Britain (ML) leader, and judicial review applicant — and independent analyst Ryan Dawson, it was designed to conflate a nation-state with an ethnic group, making criticism of Israel's policies legally and professionally dangerous.
Brar details being arrested three times at demonstrations, suspended from surgical duties, and facing two General Medical Council fitness-to-practice investigations — all for speaking against Israeli state violence. Dawson documents a systematic pattern of social media de-platforming, financial censorship, and academic suppression coordinated through organisations like the ADL and Canary Mission across NATO and Five Eyes countries.
This is not a debate about antisemitism. It's a forensic examination of how states weaponize the language of anti-racism to protect the commission of what both guests call genocide — and what happens to those who refuse to stay silent.

June 15 The IHRA Definition and the Silencing of Palestine Solidarity

The IHRA definition of antisemitism labels those who oppose genocide as Racists. The states perpetrating the genocide then criminalise workers for speaking out against Israeli, British and US wars and genocide. THAT is its REAL role: WE MUST CHALLENGE IT!
In Britain and across the “western” NATO countries, thousands of doctors, lawyers, teachers, workers and citizens are under legal attack for defending Palestine.
I was suspended after criticising Israel’s actions in Gaza, and the US-Israeli and British war on Iran. Police arrested me at my home, leaving my children to look after each other. This is the third time I’ve been targeted by the police and I have faced multiple vexatious complaints and attacks at work - all coming from the state and the zionist lobby working hand in glove with our government. The management are complicit and collaborate in creating this politically repressive environment.
In every case of police and workplace harassment, it is the “IHRA definition of antisemitism” that is being used as a benchmark to adjudicate what is “legitimate speech”. The definition was designed as a data gathering tool, and was never intended to become a law, or to be used in this way.
Theresa May adopted it for the UK together with Nicola Sturgeon in 2016 without any consultation. The major political parties followed suit (including Plaid Cymru, SNP, Liberal, Labour and the Greens). It was pushed on police forces, schools and colleges, and Wes Streeting has been pushing it actively into the heart of the NHS.
So now we have a situation in which existing laws (Public order act, professional regulatory frameworks, university regulations and constitutions) are being interpreted in its light, and the IHRA definition is therefore being “applied” as “law” - to silence legitimate speech on Palestine, and criticism of Israeli, US and British genocide.

Working-class organisations must break all links with Labour and Labour-lite forces, and reinstate genuine, shop-floor democracy.
Since the postwar settlement effectively persuaded Britain’s old Communist party (CPGB) to give up the class struggle and devote its energies to supporting the imperialist Labour party, our trade union movement has been in retreat. A retreat that accelerated into a rout following the defeat of the miners in 1984. This situation must be reversed if the working class is to have any chance of acting in its own interests against austerity and war, but the present Labour-aligned leadership is a major barrier to any meaningful revival of union militancy.

June 12 The Auschwitz Film That Exposed Fascism | The Last Stage Screening
The Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist) held a screening of the landmark 1948 Polish film The Last Stage (Ostatni etap). Directed by Wanda Jakubowska — a communist, resistance fighter, and survivor of Auschwitz — the film was among the first cinematic depictions of the Nazi concentration camps and the organised resistance that developed within them. Several Auschwitz survivors appear in the film, portraying roles closely connected to their own lived experiences just a few years after the liberation, adding a rare and powerful layer of direct testimony and lived experience to its reconstruction of events. Produced in postwar people's democratic Poland and filmed partly on location at Auschwitz itself, The Last Stage stands as both historical testimony and a forceful affirmation of the role played by communists in the struggle against fascism and genocide. At a time when our ruling class seeks to discredit communists and anti-imperialists as “anti-Semitic” for expressing solidarity with oppressed peoples and resisting imperialist war, occupation, sanctions, and national oppression, this screening reasserts a clear historical record: communists were at the forefront of the struggle against racism, fascism, colonialism, and war. The CPGB-ML stands firmly against all forms of racism, including anti-Semitism, while rejecting attempts to weaponise such accusations in order to silence political solidarity and internationalist struggle. George Korkovelos, Cultural Secretary of the CPGB-ML, delivered an in-depth introductory presentation. This event forms part of the party’s wider cultural and political work to defend historical memory, strengthen proletarian internationalism, and uphold the struggle for liberation everywhere.
