May 28 How a 'stop the war' campaign supported war

Joti Brar makes particular reference to the 2011 war of destabilisation and regime change waged by the US led NATO coalition against Libya in 2011. She relates this campaign in particular to the wider objective of the US to contain and subdue the independent nations of Russia and China, which stand in the way of US global economic and military domination.
Libya had been the most prosperous, and arguably the most socially and economically egalitarian and progressive nation in Africa, until NATO waged an illegal war to destroy its government and infrastructure.
John Rhees (SWP/Counterfire/StW) and Stop the War went out of their way to portray the regime change as a ‘popular revolution’ and the democratic anti-imperialist leadership of pre-2011 Libya as ‘a brutal dictatorship’. Andrew Murray (CPB/Labour) talked of the ‘democratic content’ of NATO’s colonial war. Owain Jones (Labour ‘left’ champion of Corbynistas everywhere) opined “we all want Gaddaffi’s overthrow dead or alive” and lent support to the NATO bombing to death of 50,000 Libyans. If any of these charlatains now dare to speak out against the Slavery of Black skins that is the result – they should be shouted down as the hypocrites they are.

The IHRA definition of antisemitism labels those who oppose genocide as Racists. The states perpetrating the genocide then criminalise workers for speaking out against Israeli, British and US wars and genocide. THAT is its REAL role: WE MUST CHALLENGE IT!
In Britain and across the “western” NATO countries, thousands of doctors, lawyers, teachers, workers and citizens are under legal attack for defending Palestine.
I was suspended after criticising Israel’s actions in Gaza, and the US-Israeli and British war on Iran. Police arrested me at my home, leaving my children to look after each other. This is the third time I’ve been targeted by the police and I have faced multiple vexatious complaints and attacks at work - all coming from the state and the zionist lobby working hand in glove with our government. The management are complicit and collaborate in creating this politically repressive environment.
In every case of police and workplace harassment, it is the “IHRA definition of antisemitism” that is being used as a benchmark to adjudicate what is “legitimate speech”. The definition was designed as a data gathering tool, and was never intended to become a law, or to be used in this way.
Theresa May adopted it for the UK together with Nicola Sturgeon in 2016 without any consultation. The major political parties followed suit (including Plaid Cymru, SNP, Liberal, Labour and the Greens). It was pushed on police forces, schools and colleges, and Wes Streeting has been pushing it actively into the heart of the NHS.
So now we have a situation in which existing laws (Public order act, professional regulatory frameworks, university regulations and constitutions) are being interpreted in its light, and the IHRA definition is therefore being “applied” as “law” - to silence legitimate speech on Palestine, and criticism of Israeli, US and British genocide.

Rail workers’ solidarity and power to fight for better conditions is undermined when union bureaucrats act against their members’ interests.
The short-term thinking of trade union leaderships is as endemic as it is self-defeating. A divided workforce is far easier to manipulate, so that in the end, the pay, conditions and pensions of the entire workforce can be steadily degraded. By allowing the management to pick on the lower grades first, train drivers are simply ensuring that when the axe comes for them, there will be nobody to stand beside them in their struggle.

War between imperialist countries and between imperialist and non-imperialist countries is inevitable for the simple fact that imperialism must seek out profits without restriction and no matter the cost. As Stalin writes:

The British state is increasingly targeting anti-imperialist voices and our party has been directly subjected to this repression.
This is no accident. As imperialism decays, political repression and the suppression of free speech intensify, specifically aimed at silencing anti-imperialist messages and organised resistance.
The ruling class deliberately conflates opposition to the colonial project of Israel with hatred of Jewish people. Anti-Zionism is not antisemitism. The IHRA definition of antisemitism is being weaponised to suppress Palestine solidarity, criminalise dissent, and erode free speech for anti-imperialists.

South Korea is a colony of Anglo-American imperialism. The Democratic Republic of Korea, otherwise known as North Korea, is a demonised state that is described as 'the aggressor' by Western Media for its defensive actions in response to the U.S. empire which killed 2.5 million innocent civilians during the 1950s Korean war and still seeks to destroy them today. To the West, the DPRK does not have an army, prisons, an intelligence service, and national interests, but death squads, prison camps, secret police, and rogue-state interests. This is the language to the West employs to victimise themselves.

For all the Trump regime’s bombast, it has been clear from the beginning that Iran has the upper hand in the war being waged by Anglo-American imperialism. Revisionism entails the distortion, perversion, deviation from Marxism. Since Krushchevite revisionism took the Soviet Union by the throat in the 1950s, the anti-imperialist movement has been derailed by the weakening and eventual undemocratic dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. As a result, the global anti-imperialist movement has become lost, confused, divided, and seemingly unable to understand what imperialism is, what produces it, and how to combat it. What the anti-imperialist movement desperately needs today is the restoration of Marxism-Leninism as the explanatory truth of what imperialism is so that we may tackle it.
