Venezuelan acting-president Delcy Rodríguez addresses a large gathering of commune members in the El Maizal commune, Lara state, on 6 March. In front of an audience of more than 13,000, she emphasised the importance of grassroots participation in deciding which projects should be launched and developed in the coming period. The popular consultation, long scheduled for 8 March, went ahead as planned, with the participation of 5,300 communes.

April 09 Hands off Iran! Oppose Anglo-American regime-change terror and media psyops!
Iran is in the crosshairs again as the imperialists have one more try at destroying this bastion of anti-imperialist and anti-zionist resistance.
As west-backed provocateurs unleashed violence and tried to create social breakdown, huge numbers of people turned out to show their support for the government and the revolution in the face of outside attack. The funeral of three-year-old Melina Asadi, who was murdered during one such terrorist shooting spree, attracted a massive crowd, while a government-called mobilisation on 15 January brought at least one million Iranians to the streets in defence of their country’s sovereignty and independence. Aiming to fragment the population and cause chaos, the imperialists have instead promoted the cause of national unity.

April 08 Obituary: Saif al-Islam Gaddafi
Saif Gaddafi continued to act as a beacon for those struggling to restore Libya’s sovereignty and independence long after his father was assassinated.
Saif Gaddafi was widely respected in Libya during the time of the Jamahiriyan Republic that was presided over by Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. His assassination, mourned by the Libyan masses, was greeted with glee by the imperialists, who were becoming worried at his potential to win any presidential election that might be held in the country.

April 05 Chagos, Iran and the new era of naked imperialism
Despite some theatre for the benefit of domestic populations, there is no serious dispute in the Anglo-American camp over the aims and methods of US imperialism.
Diego Garcia’s strategic location in the Indian Ocean, with access to south Asia, east Africa, and the middle east, is more than enough reason for the imperialists’ illegal turfing out of locals and establishment of a powerful military base there. This is one of many ‘strategic island’ locations that the British held onto as they were officially ‘dismantling’ their empire, and is a key part of Britain’s ‘special relationship’ with the USA. Tiffs between London and Washington over who ultimately controls the base reveal contradictions in the imperialist camp (and frustration over the lack of finesse in Trump’s White House) – but in the end, the Anglo-American financiers are united in their desire to maintain imperialist world domination.

The slow but steady takeover of the western left by liberalism and the divisive and reactionary politics of identity took place during decades when revolutionary Marxism had suffered serious defeats and was passing through a period of confusion and disarray.
In order to bring this period of defeat and retreat to a close and regroup the forces for socialism, the working-class movement must be purged of the plethora of anti-Marxian ideas that have become so pervasive, setting our struggle once more on a solid footing and preparing the way for a new and decisive advance.
As the worst-ever global crisis of capitalist overproduction spirals out of control, spawning war and poverty on an unimaginable scale, this task has never been more urgent.
This short pamphlet aims to provide a Marxist overview of identity politics – what they are, where they came from, and how they are affecting our movement. Brar and Rule outline the major branches (bourgeois feminism, black nationalism, LGBT+ liberation) and puts them in a historical and philosophical context that aims to help socialists steer clear of the lurking shoals that can shipwreck our movement and leave us stranded and helpless before the onslaught of the monopoly capitalist crisis and war.
The pamphlet also includes an article on the nature of the communist party and why the most organised and advanced detachment of the working class can have nothing to do with the divisive sectionalism of idpol.
