Courts are once again balking at convicting those who act to disrupt the activities of the US/British/Israeli genocidal war machine. The policy of criminalisation of anti-genocide protestors and activists has (so far) been a rank failure. While those who have been imprisoned remain unjustly behind bars, others remain undeterred. And increasingly the targeted firms simply do not want to have to justify their activities in open court. The shameful part of all this is that the activities of brave individuals should have been backed up and amplified by a union-led campaign of mass non-cooperation, which could have stopped the whole bloody genocide campaign in its tracks back in October 2023.

Netflix’s latest liberal mind rot. ‘Toxic masculinity’ is a nonsense term. It doesn’t describe a class. It doesn’t describe a system. It describes a vague set of behaviours supposedly unique to men, divorced entirely from the economic conditions that produce those behaviours. It is the liberal’s comfort blanket: a way to talk about violence, anger and alienation without ever mentioning the capitalist system.

Starmer’s government was installed to disarm working-class resistance and destroy the pro-Palestine movement. Labour is a capitalist and imperialist party, thoroughly embedded within the bourgeois state apparatus. It in no way seeks to challenge either the economic wage-slavery of workers or existing property relations. And as we have repeatedly seen, it does not reverse but instead routinely utilises and extends all the repressive legislative and state means of suppression of the British working class.

Bending socialist material to fit social media norms of ‘successful content creation’ only undermines our cause. The ‘culture wars’ paradigm encourages workers to identify with members of the ruling class, and even to call on the bourgeois state to suppress or silence workers on the ‘other side’, who are perceived to be an ‘enemy’ and the cause of all society’s problems. Meanwhile ruling-class ‘team leaders’ are seen as allies and even saviours.
