Oregon Football has several elements of Spring practices that Duck fans are monitoring closely. One of those is the quarterback position, with a room that consists of Auburn transfer Bo Nix along with blue-chip prospects Ty Thompson and Jay Butterfield. At a recent Oregon Football practice, Ty Thompson took snaps with the first-team and Bo Nix was with the second-team offense.

Ever since Nix transferred from Auburn up to Eugene back in December, the presumption has been he would be Oregon's starter come this Fall. Could there be a legitimate QB battle brewing leading up to the Oregon Football Spring Game on April 23rd? Much is still to be decided with a lot of time before a starter is likely to be named, but this recent development likely came as news to Duck fans everywhere. Especially to those who wanted to see Thompson play last season in favor of Anthony Brown.

Oregon Basketball recently got a commitment from 2023 SF Marquise "Mookie" Cook, a 5-star recruit who ranks as one of the five best players in the Class of 2023. He is Dana Altman's first top-5 recruit since former 5-star center Bol Bol in the Class of 2018. Bol did not have the career Duck fans hoped for when Oregon landed the son of former NBA center Manute Bol, largely due to injury. Mookie Cook has the chance to pan out as a highly sought after recruit, and his commitment is a good sign for the state of Oregon Basketball off of a disappointing season in which they missed the NCAA Tournament.
