My darlings. This week was #KindnessWeek at my school, and my students and I took full advantage of the opportunity to shower others with positive affirmations, good vibes, and encouragement.  Kindness doesn’t need to be consolidated to just one week though, so I have ideas of how to expand it.

Oh…and I almost fell out of my chair, spoke about my money tree plant, and how I’m basically TikTok famous now. :)

My Cycle Breakers,

Your house is on fire, and you’ve done nothing to prepare for the flames.

A crisis is crippling you because you don’t have the strategies necessary to combat it.

But what if…what if you were prepared? What if you had the strategies, the coping mechanisms, the thoughts and phrases and words needed to tackle any battle? Here’s the thing: YOU CAN.  You can prepare. You can tackle obstacles before they get so big you’re drowning. And you can contain the inevitable fire, so you don’t lose it all.

My Social Butterflies,

We live in a world that is constantly connected. We know what people are doing 24/7, what they are eating, where they are, and who they are with. Even with the best of intentions, we compare what we have and who we are to those we see online.  And I realize people only present/post what they want us to see, and that may not always be reality.  But perception IS reality to some. It can be exhausting to say the least.

So here’s what I did. I took a hiatus.

I deleted (from my phone, not forever; let’s not be crazy here) Instagram and Facebook for six days.  Today’s podcast tells you how that went for me, and I challenge you to attempt the same.

Think you could unplug for a week? Prove it.

Oh, yeah, and there’s an uber, super, sweet dog named Mocha featured at the end of the video attacking me with love and adoration…if you’re into that sort of thing. :)

My Sun Ray Listeners,

Look. Resolutions are sooooo 2000. They get made every year with the best of intentions, but within a month, resolutions are tossed aside like last semester’s algebra homework.

So let’s switch things up.

Instead of resolutions, let’s create affirmations. Affirmations can make us stronger; they can start our days on a positive note, and affirmations build healthy habits.

Allow me to show you not only how to design an affirmation that will work for you, but give you ideas and suggestions for how to make them stick around longer than the latest TikTok dance trend.
