  • August 27th, "The New York Matts!"
Hey everybody! We've got a cheery episode for ya today on Queer All Year!
Today's story is about the charity softball game that occurred today in 1973 between the NYPD and The New York Matts, that latter being a group of homosexual advocates that had been in close contact with the police. This was a happy moment in America and helps build bonds within the community.

  • June 27th, "Say Her Name" Brayla Stone
Hey everybody! Welcome back for an emotional, disturbing episode of Queer All Year!
Today we're talking about more current events than usual: the murder of a 17-year-old, black, transgender girl, Brayla Stone on June 25th, 2 days ago. All of the press has dead-named her or referred to Brayla as he. Since then, a very transphobic person has gone to instagram bragging about murdering her and flauting the money he was paid to do so. Then all of a sudden this person decided it was all a joke. The media also pointed to her family's transphobic thoughts and this leads Cat and McG to talk about our own biases. We sincerely apologize to our black community, whom we recently misrepresented in our haste to present information. Cat also had huge help in her research from a brave Twitter-warrior: @1thirty1. Lauryn, we are big fans and would love to have you on one day! Finally, if you would sign this petition to bring justice for Brayla, or at least share this and tell people to say her name! She was Brayla Stone, not whatever dead-name they gave her!

  • June 25th, "Don't just vote with your dollar, vote with your stars"
Hey everybody! Welcome back for a wonderful episode of Queer All Year!
Finally, a day in which some good things happened! After the last few episodes, Cat and McG have been very much looking forward to these happy topics! Unfortunately it won't last-Stonewall is coming up.. But today we celebrate Reverend Doctor William R Johnson who became the first openly gay person ordained in an "establishment" denomination of Christianity. Next we celebrate the very first flight of the rainbow flag at the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day parade. Cat also discusses how this fits into the Black Lives Matter movement. As for the title of the episode, we would really appreciate if you could give us a 5 star rating and review wherever it is that you listen to our podcast! If you believe that our topics are important and for the benefit of humankind, leaving a rating and review is the most effective way to open us up to new listeners, as this is how iTunes' algorithm seems to work. This can be accessed in your podcast app on the our Queer All Year page.

  • June 24th, "Upstairs Lounge Arson" WARNING: Graphic content and language
Hey everybody! Welcome back for a very sad and frustrating episode of Queer All Year!
So before we get started, we want to warn our listeners that this episode is graphic and can be disturbing for many listeners. Also, the use of the F-word appears once. It is necessary to do so to properly tell the tragic events of the Upstairs Lounge Arson. We completely understand if you want to skip this episode. That being said, Cat delivers a passionate performance recanting the disgusting events and truly is a powerful episode. Tomorrow, we're finally taking a break from these awful episodes so please come back then to hear an inspiring story with a good ending!

  • June 23rd, "Free Speech?"
Hey everybody! Welcome back to a super frustrating episode of Queer All Year!
So today we're talking about the about the Webb City High School free speech scandal. Beginning in 2004, 16-year-old Brad Mathewson began being censored by his school for wearing shirts expressing himself with slogans such as "I'm gay and I'm proud." The school forced him to change and continued to discriminate against him while many other students continued to wear homophobic shirts with phrases such as "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve." This is just the beginning of a terrible story of bullying perpetrated by the administration as well as students that led to Brad failing out and turning to drugs. As we've stated before, high school kids really can be the worst.

  • June 22nd, "Ugh, Anita Bryant"
Hey everybody! Welcome back for a depressing episode of Queer All Year!
Today we talk about the brutal murder of Robert Hillsborough by John Cordova and several friends who had been incited to do so after listening to Anita Bryant's hate-speech. While stabbing Robert 15 times, witnesses heard Cordova scream, "This one's for Anita!" So this is not speculation, they did this for her. We then talk about culpability in hate-speech and what we believe should be considered incitement. She should be in prison.
