#018 - Wynke Haanstra's health journey has involved many gut and digestive issues, including Crohn’s disease, colitis, chronic constipation and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) from a fairly young age. And while it was problematic, it only got worse as she got older. As her health continued to deteriorate, she was plagued by a variety of other symptoms, such as extreme acne, Erythema Nodosum - which is a condition where someone develops lumps on their lower legs, and a misdiagnosed fistula as a result of an infection. Check out this episode to learn how she has healed many of these conditions over just the past year.
NOTE – the conversation in the episode is fairly graphic when it comes to what Wynke went through when she developed the fistula, as it affected the parts of her body related to elimination. In the episode, we do alert you when we get into that part of the discussion, which starts about 24 mins into the episode. (This episode is marked as 'explicit' for this reason, not because there are any curse words in it.) Please use your own discretion when listening to this episode.
With that said, the reason I started Quest for Healing was to help people while they are on their health journeys. I understand the value of hearing about what our fellow healing warriors have done and learned along their paths as it can be illuminating in respect to our own journeys. And specifically because of that, I know that having Wynke share her story will be very important for people, especially women, who may find themselves on a similar path. So if you are one of those people, this episode is for you.

#017 – This week's guest is Anastasia Kaloudis. She has had an incredible health journey where she started off dealing with a vast myriad of neurological and other issues, and along the way, she had great advancements, major setbacks, and more courageous successes. I don’t want to give too much away, but especially if you’ve dealt with neurological issues, I think you’re really going to enjoy this episode.
One note I’d like to make – there are a few times in here that I say that the current year is 2020 – and it’s not! Apparently my brain hasn’t quite caught up with the calendar, so I apologize for that. We taped this episode in February 2021.
Also before we go to the episode, I would like to remind you that these discussions are not intended to provide medical advice, but rather to give you examples of methods and modalities that you may find interesting, informative or helpful. Please work with your doctor as you undertake your own health journey.

#015 - Jorie Hamm's father passed when she was only 8 years old and her mom passed when she was 23. In the aftermath, Jorie found herself diagnosed with depression, anxiety and ADHD. In addition, she had started developing other health issues, including unusual jaw pain, and the doctors didn’t have any other answers for her.
At this point, she started down her health journey with a primary focus on energy and emotional healing and in today’s show, we will explore some of the techniques and modalities that she used and how it helped her regain her life and start reconnecting emotionally with herself and her loved ones.

#014 - This week’s episode features the very moving health journey of Bernd Bissinger, who has been recovering from a very aggressive form of Multiple Sclerosis – including the brain fog and fatigue and the nerve pain that comes along with this diagnosis. Both his mother and his grandmother suffered from this as well and his journey has been truly incredible as he has broken the chain of this inherited disease.
After his initial diagnosis, Bernd had to move away from his intended career as an auditor due to the stress levels in that job. Instead, he has thankfully shifted his focus to becoming a health coach and and a certified NLP-Master so now he helps others with their health journeys in an around his home-country of Germany.
If you’re wondering if just bringing more healing foods and beneficial supplements into your life can really help against serious and debilitating chronic illness, this episode may be a big eye opener for you.

#013 - For this week's episode, my guest is Ariel Arnson – Ariel is a Rapid Transformational Therapist. RTT is a hypnosis based modality, which uses additional techniques to allow people to go back to understand what events in life have conditioned certain limiting beliefs and then to disempower those old beliefs and establish productive replacements. Ariel also hosts the podcast The Messy Path with Whitney Oppenhuizen, who joined us in Episode #007 to talk about Boundaries and Emotional Triggers.
Today, we are delving into the topic of connection with your intuition. I think this is an important part of a health journey because, first, our intuition will help us listen more deeply to our physical bodies and decode some of the messages our bodies are sending. Second, it helps us connect with our emotions more directly, and as you may already realize, the emotional path is a key part of any health journey. And third, it helps connect us to our spiritual soul and inner voice.
In our conversation with Ariel this week, we talk about how today’s society and personal experiences can foster intuitive disconnection, three things you can start doing today to start reconnecting with your intuition, and how RTT helps build that reconnection as well.

#012 – Alejandra started having debilitating symptoms as a young teenager, plagued by chronic constipation that continuously kept landing her in the emergency room, and none of the suggestions from her doctors were helping. Fast forward a few years and as a Miss Florida pageant contestant, she was coping with compounding health issues right up until the moment when they took center stage in her life. Since then, she’s had a really amazing health journey that I think you’re really going to enjoy our conversation.

#010 - Have you ever wondered why it can be challenging to make changes? Sometimes we can be all pumped up to start a new diet or exercise plan and then you feel like your willpower failed you? Part of why this can happen is because often we are just working with the part of our rational or conscious part of our brains. And this only represents 12% of our brain power! The other 88% is the subconscious and that’s what we’re going to learn about how to tap today.
My guest this week is Laura King. Laura is a hypnotherapist and a life coach and today we are discussing how hypnosis can complement a health journey by working directly with the subconscious brain in order to adjust our mindsets to support long-lasting changes during our wellness journeys.
If you’ve struggled with what you thought was just willpower, this episode is for you.

#009 – In this episode, we’re talking about recovering from setbacks in your health journey. My guest is Amanda Read, she’s a blogger and was fortunate to have been introduced to Medical Medium’s work more than 15 years ago. Since then, she has had a really productive health journey after healing from interstitial cystitis and a wide variety of other symptoms. Today we’re going to focus on the aftermath of her near-drowning accident, the repercussions of that on her health and how she picked up the pieces and started healing again.
One of the things I really appreciated during our conversation is how open she is about the ups and downs of her health journey and demonstrating how healing is not a linear path.
If you’ve faced a major blow during your health journey, this episode is for you.
