    ** About Dr. Jeffery Applegate**
    Dr. Applegate received his DVM degree from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Upon graduation, he completed a one-year internship at Animal Medical Center in New York City, before he joined the Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital in Oakhurst, New Jersey as an associate practitioner in the Avian and Exotic Animal Department, with responsibility for avian, small mammal and reptile cases. In March 2014 he accepted a position with the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital as a clinical veterinarian in the Avian and Exotic Animal Service, and became a Clinical Assistant Professor in May 2016. Prior to earning his DVM degree he worked in a number of private practice settings as a Certified Veterinary Technician.

    Dr. Marks is the previous co-owner and current Medical Director of Blum Animal Hospital in Chicago. She grew up in rural Sterling, Illinois, and received her DVM degree from the University of Illinois in 2002 with high honors. After graduation, Dr. Marks moved to North Atlanta for five years to practice small animal medicine at Allatoona Animal Hospital. In 2015, Dr. Marks was awarded America's Favorite Veterinarian honor from the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF).     Dr. Dawn Boothe received her DVM from Texas A&M University in 1980 and she is among the first class of diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology (1991). She currently directs the Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Boothe has received over $1.7M research funding as principle investigator, and has authored or coauthored over 125 peer-reviewed scientific publications, two textbooks, and over 60 book chapters.
