Jordan Fields, a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and member of the Track and Field team, co-wrote an op-ed (with Pitt football punter Ian Troost) concerning the lack of cultural competence within the university's athletic department, and how college athletics as a whole can better protect it's black student athletes moving forward. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees issued an apology over Instagram this morning walking back statements he made regarding National Anthem protests in the NFL and beyond.
