Randy Baumann and the DVE Morning Show

Mr. Wednesday Jeff Konkle would live at home if he could, Merril Hoge addresses a plethora of offensive issues for the Steelers including Mason Rudolph's confidence in the pocket, and Mark Madden doesn't understand why the Steelers are just now making transactions in the middle of a season that is already lost. Plus, we pay tribute to the late Robert Hunter, the Grateful Dead poet and lyricist who passed away yesterday at the age of 78.

Merril Hoge helps analyze the Steelers current condition through answering some simple questions: Should James Conner adjust his running style to help quell his fumbles? How can Mason Rudolph progress in his second start, and why was he so reluctant to take shots downfield? Also, what does the offensive line have to do in order to propel the running game?

Tom Brady's recent complaints on holding calls prompted a conference call amongst officials, which resulted in a 50% decrease in calls from Week 2-Week 3. Interesting. Gene Steratore chimes in on Tom's reluctancy to withhold his comments. Cam Heyward is pleased with the defense's increased turnover margin but insists there is still plenty of work to be done, starting with all eleven guys minding their gaps to stop the run. Billy Gardell's new sitcom "Bob Hearts Abishola premiered on CBS last night, and despite his success on the living room screen, Billy almost threw in the cards and walked away from the casino that is showbiz in Hollywood, then he caught a break.

Team captain Cam Heyward details the steps his defense has to take in order to turn the corner, even though they've proven to be a more productive unit in terms of forcing turnovers, and Minkah Fitzpatrick seems to fit right in so far. One aspect of the game as proven especially lethal so far: the running game. How do they stop it? Cam insists on having all eleven guys mind their gaps. Christmas is still three months away, but it's never to early to build your list, and Cam's is pretty short!

The Steelers fell to 0-3 yesterday at the hands of the 49ers despite forcing five turnovers (to just committing two of their own). The Black and Gold failed to play a complete game on both sides of the ball, surrendering big plays after earning a lead, and stalling out on key drives after forcing a turnover. So who catches the brunt of the blame? There's certainly plenty of it to go around. Stan Savran raises legitimate concerns about an offensive line touting three All-Pros, but cannot seem to create space for James Conner, and Tim Benz cites a critical defensive lapse at a turning point in yesterdays loss. Also, the 15th annual Voices Carry charity banquet will take place tomorrow. John Lydon gives the inside scoop, log on to www.auberle.org for tickets.
