The Tampa Bay Rays lost the series finale to the Baltimore Orioles, 5-3. The Orioles jumped ahead on the very first pitch, as Jackson Holliday led off the game with a solo home run and they never looked back. Baltimore added three more runs in the third inning to extend the lead to 4-0. The Rays responded with a Junior Caminero RBI single and a Danny Jansen home run, but that was all the offense they could generate. After the sixth inning, play was halted by a rain delay that lasted over two hours. When the game resumed, both offenses struggled to find momentum. Ian Seymour delivered quality innings for the Rays out of the bullpen after the delay, The Rays would threat in the 9th getting the tying run in scoring position but could not come through. Despite the loss, the Rays still took the series 2-1 and will look to carry that momentum into tomorrow night’s opener against the White Sox.
