Burger King's marketing team is absolutely on fire. What they've done with their Whopper Detour, Burn that Ad, and Impossible Whopper campaigns combined with their inventive Super Bowl commercial has been some of the best marketing I've seen in years. Native Mobile Apps are dead. You might be laughing me out of the room right now, but I'm serious! There have been some undeniable consumer behavior shifts away from native apps in the past few years, and if you're a brand that has an app in the app store, you've probably noticed that in your abysmal adoption and engagement rates. So, consumers aren't going to the app store anymore but brands still need a way to connect with them on mobile...kind of a moot point, right? Well, not quite! On this week's episode of Strong Opinions, I'm talking about some important mobile trends that you need to take into consideration when thinking about your next mobile project, the role of new web technologies in this shift (hello, Progressive Web Apps), and how brands can continue to engage their consumers on mobile without becoming slaves to the app store.

How many times have you seen a fellow marketer post an image of their entire tech stack on LinkedIn or share it in a conference presentation? But, how helpful is that really? Does sharing a bunch of logos of martech that you use actually help other marketers? My opinion: Absolutely Not. That's why I firmly believe if you're going to share your tech stack then you need to share the details on why you're using each piece of software, what resources you need to manage it, and how it's actually helping your business. And that's why I'm sharing all of that information with you on this episode of Strong Opinions.
We're getting ready to launch our second show! Check out a quick sneak peak of what you can expect with Strong Opinions before the first episode launches in a few days.
