The Washington Commanders beat the Cincinnati Bengals to close out the preseason undefeated. With roster cuts coming in just a few days, who played well enough to earn a spot on the team? In a surprise announcement, Ron Rivera announced that backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett would get the start vs the Bengals and play about a quarter and a half. The interior of the offensive line that includes Nick Gates, Saadhiq Charles and Sam Cosmi will also play while the rest of the 1st team offense and defense will not play. The Commanders also announced the Capital Crossover in which many Nationals will be honored at halftime of the game against the Chicago Bears. All of a sudden the 3rd preseason game is only 2 days away.  A few players are still dealing with injuries like Kendall Fuller, Dax Milne and Jamin Davis

Isiah Simmons was traded from the Cardinals to the Giants for a 2024 7th round draft pick.  The Commanders didn’t consider something better than that for a former #8 overall pick/
