The select committee has recommended pushing ahead with a referendum, which would see Kiwi's voting yes or no for the government to have an extra year in power. Despite having proposed the legislation, the ACT party is now the only party in Parliament against the bill in its current form....saying it needs to include additional checks and balances on the government's power.
