Part 1/ 2 (ep 11 & 12) Contrary to what we have been told in the West: there is no lineage bearer of Usui Reiki (only the succession of those that he taught); Usui encouraged as opposed to discouraged his students to refine & develop his teachings; he only ever used 3 symbols for attunement - the rest (like the Raku symbol introduced by a Tibetan Shaman) were developed over time. Just few of the factual inaccuracies around the origins & teaching of Usui Reiki covered in this episode. Jayne also covers: what cultural appropriation is; why she avoids using inherently closed practises; some history of Usui Reiki (from factually accurate & dependable sources); and touches on her style of Reiki - Shamanic Reiki.
