Today we're joined by Luke Burgis, author of "Wanting: The Power of Mimetic Desire in Everyday Life," to discuss where our desires come from and how we can better shape them. We discuss his article, "The Three City Problem of Modern Life," in which he expands on the idea, "What does Athens (reason) have to do with Jerusalem (faith)?" by adding a third city to the discussion: Silicon Valley (technology) and proposing that this Silicon Valley "city" has changed our relationships with reason and faith. Then, we talk about mimetic desire: what it is, why it's important, and how we can respond to our own desires based on where they come from. We define "disruptive empathy" and "trendy narcissism" and talk about how real love ties into all of this.

WE'RE GIVING AWAY 5 SIGNED COPIES OF LUKE'S BOOK!

Today we start off with encouragement and a call to action for parents and teachers in Christian schools to hold the line and not compromise on our values. It's worth it — and it's working. Then, we discuss tragic news that Canada is working to increase access to assisted suicide, even among minors. This kind of policy, rooted in a nightmarish redefinition of "care," is the inevitable end of a society that elevates the individual to a level of importance that should be reserved for God. Lastly, we address perhaps our most controversial topic yet — our utter disdain for pit bulls. We look at several stories that demonstrate the carnage that this breed disproportionately can cause to make the point that pit bulls just aren't safe to have as pets.

Today we're talking about a few prominent people who have made headlines recently. First, Tulsi Gabbard posted a video yesterday declaring that she's leaving the Democratic Party. We share why this is such an admirable move in today's political climate and how we should respond. Then, Herschel Walker made headlines recently after a woman came forward claiming he impregnated her and then paid for her abortion years ago. This accusation, which he vehemently denies, comes just as Walker runs for Senate in Georgia. We talk about his son Christian's response to these accusations and ask the question: Where is the line between voting for a politician for his policies and condemning his behavior? We also take a look at travel influencer Brian Kelly's surrogate baby and zoom out to look at the surrogacy industry as a whole. Then we're joined by Christiana Kiefer, senior counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom, to discuss Soule v. Connecticut Association of Schools and the fight for women's rights in sports. This case came to fruition after the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference adopted a policy that allows males who identify as female to compete in girls’ athletic events. Now, the girls who are losing scholarships and championships to biological males are fighting back.

We're back after a week of sick days! Today we're discussing Kanye West's multiple controversial statements over the past week. Kanye initially made headlines last week for beginning his Paris Fashion Week show while wearing a shirt that read "White Lives Matter." Naturally, the left-wing media freaked out. We talk about the statement itself and why this is such a hot topic. Then, we discuss his two-night appearance on Tucker Carlson, where he made his pro-life views very clear (among other opinions). But then, in true Kanye fashion, he proceeded to post a bizarre anti-Semitic tweet that got him suspended from the platform. We talk about the hypocrisy of the Left in vehemently calling this out, yet refusing to condemn the rampant anti-Semitism in their own party, but we also look at why conservatives tend to latch onto celebrities who espouse certain conservative views with no regard to the whole. Then, in light of Columbus Day, we discuss why changing holiday names doesn't do anything to actually help indigenous populations who are suffering. We finish off with a look at John MacArthur's excellent letter to Gavin Newsom following Newsom's tyrannical COVID mandates and offer an encouragement for believers.

It's often easy to be overwhelmed by the chaos of the world, wondering "What can I do to make a difference?" While some might think the only way to affect the world is through a large platform with many followers, the truth is God can do amazing things through regular people who just live their lives according to the word. God has an important purpose for everyone, regardless of how many Twitter followers they have. And although the reward for living a biblical life is eternal, we must accept that the world will continue to persecute Christians in the short term, especially as progressives work their way into Western society.

Today we're happy to welcome Pastor Brandan Robertson to the show to discuss and debate the issue of abortion. Brandan represents the pro-choice side of things and gives his thoughts on Roe v. Wade being overturned as well as what he thinks laws regarding abortion should look like. We end up debating the theological and scientific question of when life begins, and although things get a little intense at times, it's so important that Christians with differing views are able to come together for civil discussion and debate.

Note: There are times in the conversation when Brandan tried to interject but his audio did not come through due to Skype settings. This was not intentional on our part. We pause halfway through the interview to fix this.

Today is meant to encourage many of us who are feeling down about the direction of our country. When in doubt, open your Bible. God offers us encouragement and security in the knowledge that He is in complete control of what's going on, and already knows how things will play out. In addition to reflecting on Scripture, there are practical things we can keep in mind each day to make sure we're mentally and spiritually healthy: Love God, love others, and live not by lies.

Today we're joined by David Limbaugh and Christen Limbaugh Bloom, co-authors of "The Resurrected Jesus: The Church in the New Testament." The father-daughter team discuss their individual faith journeys and what inspired them to team up to write this book. Then, we take a look at a few theological questions: Does it matter if we believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus? Do works matter when it comes to salvation or to the Christian life? We talk about how "woke culture" has affected the church and the beliefs we as Christians need to hold fast to. We finish off with a short tribute to David's brother, Rush Limbaugh, looking at his legacy and faith.

Today we're joined by the founders of Good Ranchers, Ben and Corley Spell, who share their story of being called to start a meat company. From their beginnings in ministry and event planning, they have been faithful to God's guidance and direction while growing their company. We discuss the history of lax standards in meat processing and packaging and how companies can get away with putting a "packaged in America" sticker on meat even when it's imported from other countries. Good Ranchers' goal was to raise these standards, sourcing meat solely from American ranches. Then, we talk about the "war on meat" and the politics surrounding militant veganism. We're surrounded by narratives claiming that meat is bad for us, but how true is that? We also talk about what "organic" really means when it comes to chicken and how Good Ranchers is adapting its products to avoid seed oils. We finish off with some advice on taking bold steps forward and trusting the Lord.
