  • RTG? 090.1: For Your Consideration - I'm A Guy Guy

Hosts James and Diaz return to the table with fellow member of the Guy-bunal and Very Special Guest Xavier, and this time the three of them find themselves proud to welcome another guest to the show: New York Times bestselling author of Ringmaster: Vince McMahon and the Unmaking of America and Chief Instigator Correspondent Abraham Josephine Riesman.

After giving Josie a chance to introduce herself to the RTG? faithful (1:30), our team follows along as she delves into the life of a wrestling Guy who's skill for survival (and bountiful backstabbings) would make Jeff Probst proud (29:01). This Guy has a propensity for persistence, but will he manage to persevere the criteria of the Guy-bunal and find a way into the Hall of Guy? (51:26)

Be sure to check out more of Josie's work at her website, and find more about Ringmaster (and its brand new paperback copy!) at the book's website.

  • RTG? 090: Reliti-Guy-tion Episode IX: The Rise of Guy-walker

"'The time has come,' the Walrus said, 'To talk of many things'". The time is this week, here at the tail end of season 9; and the things that Hosts James and Diaz will discuss along with Very Special Guest Xavier are the Guys ready to be reconsidered in yet another edition of Reliti-Guy-tion.

Following a brief house call from oldest friend of the show Mr. Medicinal (1:42), the Guy-bunal runs through what's making memories for them (11:26) before getting to the Guys: a Belgian they'd waffled on previously (32:35); a Guy who's facial hair faced a tough challenge last time (37:50); a backup with a strong Morrall backbone (42:48); a Guy pronounced in the French style (44:48); a Newcastle legend far from St. James Park (46:22); and an old-man hooper who Milled about in the league for as long as he could (48:26). They all may have come up short in their first go-rounds, but with any luck, by the end of the episode these hallowed half dozen should also be denizens of the Hall of Guy. (54:23)

  • RTG? 089: Guy Eat Guy World

Grab a container of Old Bay and crack open a Natty Boh cause this week, hon, Hosts James and Diaz are bringing Very Special Guest Xavier with them to the Old Line State so that the Guy-bunal can discuss a new category: Baltimore Guys.

Xavier strikes first as he tries to pin down the story of a local sport's legend with skill to spare (20:31); before tossing it to James who sticks to a more re-lax-ing regional past time (39:32); and then all getting finished off by Diaz and the poetic story of a Guy short on height but not talent (57:04). Three compelling cases, to be sure, but two are sure to feel a little crabby as only one can make it in this week to the Hall of Guy! (1:36:26)

  • RTG? 088: The Long And Guy-nding Road

We certainly don't want any masters of their craft here, but this week we also don't want any jacks-of-all-trades. Instead, Hosts James and Diaz welcome back Very Special Guest Xavier onto the show so the Guy-bunal can discuss those apprentices-no-longer that become wayward wanderers: Journeyman Guys.

James has the wheel to start this week as they bring up a backup Guy who was great for locker room Morrall (16:41); Diaz dishes on a Guy known for his assistance to teammates in need (38:29); and Xavier goes a little Loco on a Guy who saw plenty of the world in between becoming a World Cup hero (1:17:09). These three Guys have all undertaken a great odyssey of one form or another, but which one will find their journey ending here in the Hall of Guy? (1:45:56)

  • RTG? 087: A Flock Of Guys

Only shooting stars break the mould, and so there'll be no penicilin at all this week as Hosts James and Diaz instead take some time with Very Special Guest Xavier to talk about some Guys that Smash Mouth was much less concerned with: Zero Time All-Star Guys.

Diaz tells the first these star-free stories about a college hoops Guy familiar with members of the dog and cat variety (27:15); Xavier follows up with his francophilic retort to Diaz's winning argument from a week ago (50:32); and James tells a big fish story that nonetheless eventually spawns a title (1:09:46). None of these Guys could ever make the mid-season classic for their sports, but barring something crazy happening, at least one of them should be able to make it into the Hall of Guy! (1:29:48)

  • RTG? 086.1: For Your Consideration - Kenny Rogers's "The Guy-mbler"

Pull up a seat at the table dear listener as this week, the gang makes it a foursome as Hosts James and Diaz (along with Very Special Guest Xavier) welcome a new friend of the show: Graphics Extraordinaire Mike Canter.

After Mike takes a moment to introduce himself to the RTG? faithful (18:42); he launches into the story of a Guy who was dealt some poor cards but knew exactly when and how to hold and fold them as he Transformed his life from those humble beginnings into a winning hand (25:44). That only leaves the question of whether he can hit the ultimate jackpot: induction into the Hall of Guy. (58:31)

  • RTG? 086: Ursa Guy-nor

If you're wondering why the title is a constellation this week; it's because when Hosts James and Diaz get together with their Very Special Guest Xavier to reconvene the Guy-bunal, they're concerned with a special kind of stellar career as they discuss this episode's topic: One Time All-Star Guys.

Xavier is the first to light up the night sky with a little bit of Aurora Australis (16:05); James brings up a Guy who's star shone at the top of leagues across many international Wauters (39:39); and Diaz finishes with an All-Star clash between his Guy and the NHL where the league didn't get off Scott-free (1:02:03). Even just one All-Star appearance lasts forever, just like the plaque that one of these nominees will receive if they can manage to garner induction into the Hall of Guy. (1:40:28)

  • RTG? 085: The Other Guys

There are no Gods this week, only mortal Guys, as Hosts James and Diaz get a little help from Very Special Guest Xavier in discussing not immortal legends behind retired numbers but rather the Guys that they themselves came behind: Guys Who Were Second-To-Last To Wear A Number.

Diaz brings the category to the table and with it, a Guy who beat boxed as well as boxed out (21:49); Xavier goes down under to bring us the ruck(us) (43:19); James tries to finish strong with cars made of steel and a Guy made of iron (1:07:32). The three may never see their names in any rafters, but which of these Guys will manage to see their faces in the Hall? (1:29:59)

  • RTG? 084: "No Bag, All Buckets" And Then Just Add A Guy In There

Welcome back folks, as this week we find ourselves in illustrious company. That's because Hosts James and Diaz have welcomed back Very Special Guest Xavier onto the show, and he's brought with him the category for this episode: Random Guys In Clubs Of Statistical Excellence.

And Xavier comes out swinging this week, with a Guy who didn't even need hindsight to see 20/20 (22:16); followed by Diaz's Guy who Brewed up something special to join a special quartet (43:13); and finished off by James and a skilled prospector who a couple times struck gold with very limited effort (1:19:23). As has been established, these Guys are no strangers to exclusive membership, but which one today will manage to earn the ultimate of honor of membership in the Hall of Guy? (1:43:43)

  • RTG? 083: Guy-ve O' Clock Shadow

Hoo boy, it was a close shave getting this one in folks but luckily we have managed to convene Hosts James and Diaz along with their Very Special Guest Xavier so that the three of them can discuss this week's topic: Famous Facial Hair Guys.

Xavier starts off with maybe the only sentient set of bristles ever interviewed (22:28); James brings up a lesser known GOAT of goatees (36:28); and Diaz regales us with the story of a peach fuzz pugilist in Pennsylvania (59:38). All three of these Guys have a plenty mean face for facing off, but which one of them has the (mutton)chops to earn induction this week into the Hall of Guy? (1:32:08)
