Hey there folks, some health issues came up for members of the extended RTG? family this week, and the good news is that everyone is safe and doing much better. Unfortunately, simply no time to put record but we'll be back next week with a fresh batch! Fuck the Chiefs!
Your pumpkin carriage has arrived and we made sure to include an aux plug-in for it. That way you can bump this week's episode as Hosts James and Diaz welcome back to the show Very Special Guest Xavier so all three of them can discuss this week's topic, Cinderella Guys.
Diaz strikes first with significantly better odds than 5000:1 at a win (19:08); followed by James returning serve with their own British grass-roots campaign (49:36); before Xavier tries to outshine them both with a superstar of unprecedented Wat-tage (1:10:26). Two of these Cinderella runs will sadly come to an end, but one will keep both of their glass slippers as they step through the threshold into the Hall of Guy (1:38:02).

The gang has returned to their regularly scheduled programming; and as Hosts James and Diaz welcome back Very Special Guest Xavier, the three try to put a new spin on things with the category of Guys Who Played An Obscure Version Of A Sport.
Diaz fires from the hip as he talks about a Guys that's become his new favorite Long range six-shooter (23:23); Xavier brings a Guy who does such a good job cleaning up the competition, you'd think it was his racket (47:36); and James concludes with a Guy who gets straight to the point, regardless of the obstacles (1:09:32). But with such a varied collection of sports variants, which one will manage to break their way into the Hall of Guy? (1:30:01)

For the Season 8 finale, Hosts James and Diaz decide that while they're happy to welcome back Very Special Guest Xavier, the trio needs just a little more umph to send this era out in style. With that in mind, it's their pleasure welcome back friend of the show and the mind behind the ever-expanding ArtButMakeItSports brand, LJ Rader!
After reintroducing LJ and his work to the RTG? faithful (28:40); he introduces the Guy-bunal to his new submission, and if he can't give his resume a shot in the arm he can at least guarantee a shot in the leg (36:58). Once the case has been made, it's time for deliberation before deciding whether this purveyor of hit by pitches is enough of a hit to earn induction into the Hall of Guy. (53:53)

This show has always help up Guy-ness as a sacred but indescribable thing; but this week Hosts James and Diaz are back and they are pleased to welcome Very Special Guest Xavier back too as the three of them engage in an Excel-ent discussion on the measures of Guy-ness.
After a brief history of the inspiration for this episode, everyone's favorite shark film/hall-of-fame-worthiness-measuring-stick (19:37); Diaz and Xavier take some poetic looks at the kind of actions performed by a Guy throughout their career that capture in numbers the elusive qualities our Guy-bunal measures its candidates by (26:46).
And then James vomits the products of a daylong spreadsheet binge into the microphone (38:03). Then it's just a matter of double checking the work (55:51) before Diaz puts a bow on it all, or rather a bow-wow (58:42).

In an attempt to become more intercontinental than a ballistic missile, this week Hosts James and Diaz are not only joined by their Very Special Guest Xavier. The three of them also welcome their favorite Englishman since the one who invented those muffins: friend/fan of the show Leon Brooke.
After taking some time to expound on the differences in the world of sport Leon has seen in his time on both sides of the pond (22:31); the Guy-bunal gets down to business as their guest presents a footballer who could also be described as a bit of a card player (31:12). But will this Red Devil be able to earn his way back into the everlasting paradise that is the Hall of Guy? (55:46)

An episode that is evenly divisible by 10 can only mean one thing, friends, and that's another edition of our Reliti-Guy-tion process. This week, Hosts James and Diaz bring in Very Special Guest Xavier so that the Guy-bunal can reconvene and reconsider some of the Guys that have graced our memories this past season.
Diaz starts by breaking down his favorite hooper of the season, to Thunder-ous applause (15:34); Xavier decides that the second spot is not too late to "Get it on!" (19:48); James shares a Penny for their thoughts on Australian basketball (22:55); Diaz finally finds the answer to the question "Guy Always Me?" (29:14); Xavier picks the Guy he thinks is a perfect 10 (33:12); and James decides it's time for the another backup bird to find a roost (37:11). Then it's time to welcome the new class right before the Guy-bunal welcomes the new year with a couple of predictions to send us home (43:24).

Streaming service Guy+ is proud for the 3rd year to once again present a portion of the live broadcast of this year's Guy of the Year Awards. The ceremony, emceed by Hosts James and Diaz with a little help from Very Special Guest Xavier (and a couple other friends), wraps up the year that was in Guy-dom before they cap the evening with the biggest prize of all: the 2023 GOTY!
Happy Holidays!

Remember when they used to censor swears in comics by using special characters? RTG? f%#@!ing remembers. So join Hosts James and Diaz along with Very Special Guest Xavier for an extra-profanity-laden episode as they discuss the category of This Fucking Guy.
James leads off with the ultimate Fan-atic (24:42); Diaz is on deck and with a Guy who put a Dent in the hopes of Boston (48:41); and Xavier is in the hole with what sounds like a wild career mode for Super Mario Strikers (1:12:45). Then, one of these fucking Guys is getting fucking inducted. (1:50:49)

The gang is so glad you've chosen to join them again this week as they get set to talk about just that: choice, and the lack thereof. That's because this week, Hosts James and Diaz are joined by Very Special Guest Xavier so that the three of them can discuss Guys Who Didn't Want To Play For The Teams That Drafted Them.
Xavier gets the 1st overall pick and spends it on a Shyamalan-like twist on his own category (21:19); which is followed by James bringing up one of the most storied programs in College Football if you ignore the last 70 years (46:44); before Diaz stuffs us full of a big Guy who feasted on the boards (1:08:49). Now, unlike their fateful drafts, these Guys will wait with baited breath hoping to be selected, when it comes time for the Guy-bunal to make a decision about who gets inducted into the Hall of Guy. (1:40:58)

What is Guy? Just ask Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart.
"I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of players I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description, but Guy know it when Guy see it".
