This is Renegade Files Episode 83, Chaos Magic.

Chaos Magic is one of those unfortunate topics which, because of a poorly selected name, people tend to think they know what it is, without ever looking into it.

Maybe that’s a good thing from the perspective of a true Chaos Magician, but the more likely truth is that (1) the devotees probably don’t care if someone understands it or not, and (2), there is no such thing as Truth in the first place so either of these scenarios is equally ineffectual in the world and there’s really no one to care or not care, but this is not to say that the entire discipline is Nihilistic.

A better term might be flexible, and before we start trying to understand this, we need to unravel a few things.

First of all, the unfortunate name here: Chaos Magic. When people hear the word Chaos, they often think of melee, destruction, and wreckage. Officially, Chaos refers to a state of complete confusion or disorder, where there is no order or organization. It can also describe a confused mass or mixture of things. As for Chaos Magic, what we’re concerned with is more of the absence of organization, formality, and tradition. But this doesn’t mean the total void of performance. Quite the opposite. Chaos magic is, above all else, concerned with Results.

One of its mantras is, If it works, it works.

In the first section we’ll cover some deeper definitions and origins of Chaos Magic. In part 2 we’ll explore the tools of the trade. In part 3 we’ll dive into Chaos Magic in Popular and fringe Culture. And that will lead us into some part 4, Pop Culture Events and Products that just may be forms of Chaos Magic being performed in plain sight. By the end we should know just enough about Chaos Magic to get us in trouble.

This is Renegade Files Episode 82, James Holmes the Batman Shøøter.

Just after midnight on July 20, 2012 an armed man in a gas mask set off tear gas in a crowded theater at the premier of Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises in the Century 16 multiplex Cinema in Aurora, Colorado. Before the smoke cleared 12 were dead, and 70 were injured. Lone gunman James Holmes then walked out, leaned calmly against his white Hyundai, still in body armor and gas mask, and waited to be arrested.

At 12:38 police dispatch received a call: gunshots fired in theater. Ninety seconds later police were on the scene. Pandemonium. Four minutes later 24 year-old James Holmes was in the back of a cop car.

The arresting officer initially thought Holmes was on the SWAT team, and when he asked him if he was the one who had done this, he tells us that Holmes replied, “I am the Joker,” but Holmes denies ever saying that.

The Superhero-Villain angles made the story huge news, and when Holmes arrived in court with fluorescent orange-dyed hair and a wide-eyed vacant expression, the world’s attention was galvanized. 

This was a tragedy with needless injuries, unnecessary loss of life, and untold psychological stress forced upon both the people there and upon a nation.

This podcast episode was not created to suggest this event didn’t happen, nor to capitalize on the tragedy, and my heartfelt compassion goes out to everyone who has been affected by this very real crime.

I’ve put this episode off for a while now, but I finally decided that there’s information here that needs to be brought to light. If this event did not happen in the way we have been told, or if important facts have been left unchecked, then the circumstances here deserve a deeper look.

That’s what we’ll do today. This is not an episode of sensationalism, although many of the facts are dramatic. But there’s something here that just feels wrong, out of place, or slightly off in some ways that are difficult to pinpoint.

It’s the tidy way that it was all packaged, the conflicting reports that were ignored, the high-level connections of some of those involved, and the almost cartoonish evidence presented after the fact.

When logic clashes with the official narrative, I go to work. In this episode I’ll do my best to give you the facts we know, the details that seem irrational, and the connections others have overlooked so you and I can view this tragic event with fresh eyes.

This is Renegade Files Episode 81, The Brooklyn Bridge UFO Abduction.

The Brooklyn Bridge UFO Abduction takes us to the big apple to investigate a story that starts out strange, gets stranger, then goes into the bizarre. The cast of characters is extraordinary and includes an unassuming 40-year old mom, a famous New York artist, two Men-In-Black type agents, and a Secretary General to the United Nations.

This story received a large amount of attention in New York City and was eventually the subject of a Netflix documentary called, “Manhattan Alien Abduction”. The story has also been covered on The Why Files Podcast and by Kit and Rory on their podcast: This Paranormal Life, and several more.

A lot of times I’ll pass on certain subjects if others have covered them well already, but for some reason I kept coming back to this one.

When I started looking into this case I was fascinated by some of the details and events so I decided to dive deeper, and that’s how I ended up making this episode … so come with me to New York City and together we will fly up the blue beam of light into the mothership and investigate The Brooklyn Bridge UFO Abduction.

This is Renegade Files Episode 80, Sasquatch and Bigfoot: East Coast / West Coast Beef.

Anyone who has looked into the Sasquatch phenomenon knows about the 1967 Patterson-Gimlin film, and it’s star, affectionately known as Patty, who glanced over her shoulder in the famous home movie frame 352 to become an icon of Bigfoot Lore forever.

The Patterson-Gimlin footage ignited a nation-wide frenzy of Bigfoot searches, sightings, and debates and the majority of this activity, in the early years, was focused on the American Northwest; our debut star having come to us from the Bluff Creek area of Del Norte County California.

And while the vast forests of Cascadia may have given us the lion’s share of Sasquatch reports, the fact is that ape-like cryptids have been reported in every state. In fact, reports of such creatures from the East Coast have risen to rival some of the bast tales from the Northwest.

In this episode of Renegade Files we will explore the misty Blue Ridge Mountains, the humid swamps of Florida, and many woodland locations along the Eastern US corridors in search of Sasquatch Stories from credible witnesses.

We’ll analyze how Bigfoot Sightings in the East differ from those more traditional encounters we all grew up on from the West, while also considering how this humanoid cryptid changes as we move from South to North. This is Renegade Files Episode 79, Vigilante Justice.

Since there have been laws and systems of justice, there have been flaws and cracks in these systems. Sometimes the innocents go to jail, and sometimes the criminals get away. A Vigilante is someone who acts unofficially, and outside of the establishments of law enforcement and criminal prosecution, to deliver what they believe to be justice, in situations where the legal system, in the vigilante’s eyes, fails to do the right thing.

Some vigilantes are seen as heroes, others are seen as reckless dangers to society, and some divide opinions and create camps of both supporters and critics of their actions.

On this episode of Renegade Files we will travel down the back alleys and desolate woodland roads in search of vigilante justice. We will try to understand some of the circumstances which drive people to take the law into their own hands, and we will delve into four specific cases and groups who have defined the modern vigilantes: Gary Plauché, Bernhard Goetz, The Guardian Angels, and Daniel Penny.

Is there a time when everyone agrees that a vigilante has done the right thing? Do some deserve medals? Do all deserve jail cells? And in the end, what does it say about our society as a whole, when the wheels of justice force certain, otherwise law abiding citizens over the edge to take actions that make them criminals themselves?

This is Renegade Files Episode 78, Illegal Drugs: Weapons of the Deep State.

Since the Treaty of Munster and the Peace of Westphalia combined to bring peace to the Holy Roman Empire and create the Nation-State in 1648, some confederations and multinational states have evolved into empires.

An Empire is a political unit made up of several territories and peoples, typically established through conquest, and marked by a dominant centralized government and subordinate peripheries.

And regardless of religion, political organization, or ideological framework, all of our modern empires share a common source of colonial expansion and political power: Drugs.

From the 1790s to the present, the stories of Imperial territorial expansion, wealth accumulation, and wartime conquests have paralleled the story of illegal, recreational, and addictive drugs. In this episode of Renegade Files we will explore the ways that drugs are used to first build, and then control nations.

Along this seedy journey we’ll encounter an unlikely cast of interconnected characters including the tobacco and alcohol companies, big sugar, network television, big pharma, Gangster Rap executives, the prison industrial complex, 60s counterculture hero’s, and the CIA.

We go deep on this one, to illuminate the links that make up what amounts to a generations-long psyop created to weaken oppositions, addict and divide populations, delude individuals, and ultimately convince free people to trade their freedom for security. This is Renegade Files Episode 77, Antarctica (Mysteries, UFOs, & More).

Antarctica is the earth's southernmost continent. It is also the coldest the driest and the windiest. It's the world's 5th largest continent with an area of about 5,500,000 square miles, most of that covered by a thick sheet of ice, known as the Antarctic ice sheet, with an average thickness of about 1.2 miles.

Most of the life there consists of mites, nematodes, Penguins, seals, and some forms of lichen and moss.

Antarctica is notoriously inhospitable holding the record for the lowest temperature ever measured on earth, which is -128.6°F. It is also very difficult to travel to, surrounded by cold, very rough seas dotted with dangerous icebergs.

Mount Erebus on Antarctica’s Ross Island is the world's southernmost active volcano and it erupts about 10 times per day. The Antarctic shores are surrounded with thick sheets of floating ice which block the coastlines and bays, and many coastal locations require specialized ice breaking ships in order to make landfall.

And yet many nations continually send scientists and researchers to live in a handful of remote bases in Antarctica, and have been doing so since the first Russian expeditions in 1820.

Antarctica is distant, rugged, and freezing. It is the subject of treaties, alleged UFO sightings and crashes, a hidden Nazi base, many geographical anomalies, no-fly zones, and a list of conspiracy theories.

This is Renegade Files Episode 76, Multiple Personality Disorder: The Controversial Concepts of Dissociation.

Like all Renegade Files Podcast content, this episode is for entertainment only. This episode explores topics of mental health and disorder, but it is in no way medical advice or even expert opinion. Enjoy.

At a certain level, we all have variations of our personalities, and these develop over time as a way to relate to and interact with others in society.

We may be proper and generally quiet at work, animated and provocative among our friends, and distant and disengaged around our family. And we may shift across a number of identities throughout our days. A parent in the morning, an accountant from 9 to 5, and a skydiver on the weekends.

For most of us what we do may change, but who we are, has a relative and agreed upon consistency.

But for a very small percentage of the general population the foundational reality of self is something else, something fluid, retreating, or fully disjointed and fractured.

This experience is known as dissociation and it can manifest across a spectrum of levels that ranges from a perceived detachment from nature or the environment, to a complete Dissociative Identity Disorder where more than one personality occupies a person’s awareness, and each point of comprehension is separated by blackout gaps of memory, knowledge, and influence.

Much like so many things we have explored here on Renegade Files, the ins and outs of this topic go very deep, and the multifaceted realities of the subject, may not align with the concepts and explanations that we, as a society, have been led to believe over the years.

Was the phenomenon of Multiple Personalities as we know it created more by the entertainment industry, than the clinical fields of psychology?

The world of Conspiracy Theories has always clashed with the mainstream media for reasons of pure definition and opposing agendas.

Conspiracy Theorists are concerned with facts and truth, and the mainstream media is concerned with ad revenue. the party lines of the governmental agencies who regulate them.

As such, the mainstream has waged a war on free thinking and independent research, and many big communication and data companies have now implemented actual policies to marginalize and repress the opposing viewpoints of actual journalists who dive deeper than their glossy repeated sound bites.

One large social media platform recently updated their terms and conditions to outlaw any content that promotes alternative viewpoints of current events that indicate the causes as any collection of non-state participants. That’s a pretty wide net and if that platform does delete any competing ideas about who or why a current event has occurred, then we are dealing with open censorship of the official narratives.

As a response to the vilification of alternative cultural analysis, on this episode we will take a quick look into ten conspiracies that are not theories, but that we know are fully and factually true.

These are cases where people promoted alternative viewpoints to current events that indicated the causes as collections of non-state participants, and they turned out to be fully accurate.

So what does that say about the censorship and hatred of Conspiracy Theorists in the mainstream media and big data social media?

I’ll leave that to you to decide. This is not a terribly exhaustive deep dive into any of these subjects. This episode is a bit down and dirty as far as production goes, but the content is nothing but crystal jewels.

The vast majority of such information is healthy, harmless, or even helpful. But a small percentage of such content will always be incomprehensible, disturbing, or mysterious.

Today we will dive into the latter. One of the strangest, most bizarre, and most mysterious creations the glorious internet has ever given us: a disturbing documentary called Grave-Robbing For Morons.

This very strange short film has spawned hours of speculation from internet detectives searching for answers. Is the movie real, does it really show what it claims to, and who are the people involved in making it?
