  • Managing Tricky Emotions with Our Kids - Interview with Kelly Hutcheson

    Hey there, my mama friend!

I'm super excited to bring you a special guest today who will be sharing some strategies to help not only us as parents deal with our kids' tricky emotions, but to teach them how to deal with their emotions as well to become competent, confident adults.

Our kids don't need to be happy all the time. They simply need to learn tools to manage whatever emotions arise.

Kelly Hutcheson is a mom of 2 and teacher who holds a Masters in Child Counseling and is a Certified Life Coach from the Life Coach School with Brooke Castillo.

Kelly shares some insight into her personal parenting struggle, even as a teacher and School Counselor. No parent is immune, and each child is different. Once we learn to accept that there's nothing wrong with us or our kids, and we take off the blanket of shame associated with these tricky emotions that show up in our families, we can then learn coping strategies and start creating strong bonds with our children. It's a privilege to be the ones allowed to mentor our kids through these challenging moments in life!

"Our kids aren't giving us a hard time. They're having a hard time!"

  • 10 Hands-on Learning Activities for Toddlers and Preschoolers

    Hey there, my mama friend!

Are your little ones bored or driving you crazy while you're trying to help your school-aged kids with their school work?

In todays podcast I am sharing my top 10 hands-on activities to keep your toddlers and preschoolers busy and learning while you get some other things done in your day.

These are tried-and-true activities that I used every week in my daycare. It's essentially my entire curriculum I developed to teach toddlers and preschoolers their basic concepts. Minimal supplies are needed for most of them, so no need to invest a ton of money in commercial materials. Most of these items can be found around the home.

  • It Doesn't Have to Be All or Nothing

Hey there, my mama friend! Welcome back! I'm so grateful you chose to tune into this podcast today and spend a little time with me. I hope my message today brings you peace and confidence within your role as a parent.

Let me ask you a question. Would you consider yourself an all-or-nothing type of person?

I definitely am and have been for most of my adult life. I'm a very passionate and driven person, and when I find something that resonates with me and moves me, I grab on and refuse to let go sometimes.

Of course, the other extreme end of that spectrum also applies. If something doesn't resonate with me or move me, I cut it off or avoid it like the plague.

It's a sneaky characteristic, for sure. One that leads to: *procrastination *hesitation *self-sabotage *perfectionism

These traits might end up causing us to do things like:

*avoiding filing paperwork on our desk if we can't clean the entire office at the same time *not starting a business or not promoting it if it's not perfectly set up *not starting a project if we don't have all the tools *not writing that book until we have the perfect title *taking away ALL privileges from our teen who lied or misbehaved, rather than letting the punishment fit the specific crime *quitting a business if we haven't made "x" amount of money by an arbitrary date, rather than focusing on the success we HAVE created

All of these actions stem from self-limiting thoughts or beliefs.

In today's podcast, I offer some insight as to why we do these things to ourselves and how to break those patterns and replace them with more effective ones. Go check out the full episode to hear more.

Everything in life doesn't have to be all or nothing. There is SO much in between!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope to meet you right back here next time so we can rise up together!

  • Our Children Rise When We Rise - Interview with Author Anita Kovacevic

    Hey there, my mama friend!

Today I'm interviewing my first guest for the Rise Up, Mamas! show!

I will be interviewing one special mom per month to allow her to share her journey through motherhood. Many of these moms are authors, fellow podcasters, and social media influencers and entrepreneurs, but some are stay-home moms and homeschooling moms simply being CEOs of their lives.

Anita Kovacevic is a happily married mother of 2 from Croatia. When I thought about who I wanted to interview first on this show, I knew it would be Anita. She and I connected on Facebook nearly eight years ago, and she has been one of my biggest cheerleaders in my publishing journey.

She's the author of 18 solo titles and 8 collaborative works. She writes everything from poetry and adult fiction to children's books. A couple years ago, Anita was struck by a sudden illness that left her blind for over ten months.

In this podcast, she shares how her children stepped up and joined her process of writing and publishing books to allow her to continue to follow her dream.

You don't want to miss this inspiring story of perseverance and unconditional love. A true testament to what it means to step into your power as a parent and raise phenomenal kids!

  • Coffee's Not the Only Thing That Can Fill Your Cup

    Hey there, my mama friend!

Today's show is all about how to set up your every day for success and joy with tools that produce a natural high you can channel anytime you need it!

What does your morning routine look like? What's the first thing you do? Over 60% of moms say they head straight for the coffee pot to get their morning started. Another 40% say they hop on their phones and scroll through social media or check emails and texts.

More and more, moms are being seen glued to their phones at the bus stop or car pickup line at their child's school, and even while walking into the gym. We've conditioned ourselves to ensure we get our "fix" to start our day, whatever that fix may be. No judgment here because I've been #guilty of this myself and still struggle with it.

However, I have started making some changes in my morning routine that have produced a sense of calm, peace, and control in my day.

In today's show I share a few ways to stimulate your brain naturally, to get your day started on a positive note, improve your health, and allow you to pour into those you love from an overflowing cup rather than an empty one.

    *pray/meditate

    *yoga/exercise

    *go for a walk/jog

    *write down some daily goals

    *read a book/your Bible

*call or video chat with a friend

    *listen to an uplifting podcast

I don't know about you, but I want to create a life I'm naturally excited to wake up to, not one that I need to escape. ~TS

You're welcome to keep the coffee and smartphone, but these tips can help you set up your day in a way that YOU control these elements in your life rather than allowing them to control you!
