FEED DROP! | Suits Yourself: Suits DAILY Rewatch Podcast | Pilot Recap

In the special FEED DROP, Rob Cesternino (@robcesternino) and Chappell (@chappells_show) begin their duty on the daily Suits rewatch, at least until the current work stoppage in Hollywood continues. Suits is an example of a show that is the most streamed, but the writers and actors are not receiving compensation for their work being so successful.

In this podcast, Rob and Chappell recap the series premiere of Suits.

Suits is an American legal drama television series created and written by Aaron Korsh. It premiered on USA Network on June 23, 2011 and ran for 9 seasons. Suits is the #1 streamed acquired show for Netflix. As of August 3rd, Suits has now logged the 13th highest weekly viewing total in Nielsen’s streaming history. Only streaming originals like “Stranger Things,” “Wednesday,” “Tiger King” and “Ozark” have had weeks with stronger numbers.

Set at a fictional New York City law firm, it follows Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who uses his photographic memory to talk his way into a job as an associate working for successful “closer” attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), despite being a college dropout who never attended law school (although he has passed the LSAT multiple times as an illegal proxy). Suits focuses on Harvey and Mike winning lawsuits and closing cases, while at the same time hiding Mike’s secret. It also features Rick Hoffman as Louis Litt, a neurotic, manipulative and unscrupulous financial-law partner; Meghan Markle as the ambitious, talented paralegal Rachel Zane; Sarah Rafferty as Harvey’s legal secretary and confidante Donna Paulsen; and Gina Torres as the firm’s profit-above-all managing partner, Jessica Pearson. This week, Rob and Chappell talk about why they are starting a DAILY rewatch of “Suits,” an American legal drama television series created and written by Aaron Korsh. Rob & Akiva Need a Podcast #232: Trilight

Rob Cesternino (@robcesternino) and Akiva Wienerkur (@keev26) need a podcast and every week, Rob and Akiva spin a wheel of listener-submitted podcast ideas, and whatever the wheel lands on is what they podcast about next. This week, the wheel landed on “Trilight.” Rob and Akiva watch alternating films in the Twilight series at 3x speed and attempt to explain a coherent storyline. We are also celebrating 5 year of RAANAP!

After Rob and Akiva ingested the series, they went through the mailbag to hear what new ideas should be added to the wheel directly from the listeners and then spin the wheel to see what will be coming next week in episode 233. The mailbag begins at 2:20ish.

For the link to the spreadsheet that Rob and Akiva use to compile ideas, check it all out here: Rob and Akiva Need a Spreadsheet (compiled by the great Will from America).

To submit an idea for a future episode of “Rob and Akiva Need a Podcast” to be discussed on the mailbag, submit it on this form: Rob and Akiva’s Mailbag Form.

Rob and Josh Free Willy: 30 Years Greater

This episode of Post Show Recaps was recorded during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the creative work being covered here wouldn’t exist.

Rob Cesternino (@robcesternino) and Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) are traveling 30 years back in time for their new podcast series 30 Years Greater. The next phase of The Rob and Josh Show, 30 Years Greater examines moves from three decades ago and determines how they hold up all these years later.

In this episode, Rob and Josh watch and discuss “Free Willy,” which originally released July 16, 1993.
